I found it out of character for baby yoda to eat those eggs. The only way I can explain it in my head is maybe he couldn't sense them in the force yet, so thought they were ok to eat.

Maybe he's so young (for his race) that he is unable to see the eggs as sentient creatures. He may have just thought she was lugging around groceries. He seemed to react differently once he saw an egg hatch in Ep 3.

Well in S1, he ate that small frog like creature. So maybe he has a taste for amphibians, lol
