The right pronounciation is Teal'c/Sam's. Daniel doesn't do it right because Shanks can't pronounce it right (main reason why Shau'ri becomes Sha're) and other actors kind of followed him, idk why. So you're good don't worry. Actually I'm pretty sure Thor's a red-head in the myths. I know, weird lmao I think asking Daniel to destroy the hammer was a bit cruel, Sam or Jack could've done it. A symbiote replace the Jaffa immune system, they wouldn't last a day without it. The hammer only kills the Goa'uld, it wouldn't have turned Teal'c into a human.

Patrick - Excelsior

Actually most ancient Norse tales of Thor describe his hair as "fairer than gold". Also Viking warriors would dye their hair blonde before battle to look more like Thor. It was the Christians that later described him as a red head.

Your comment about other cultures maybe having an iris or similar protecting the gate - part of the reason the SGC sends the MALP robot through is to check to see if it is safe to travel through

Teal'c can't live without the symbiot in his gut. As a Jaffa he no longer has an immune system, the symbiot acts as his immune system. So, no he wouldn't be able to survive without it.

Michele

I think the actor can't say that word properly, and that's why he keeps saying it wrong. They talked about the fact that Tealc can't live without his symbiote in this episode. I don't know why though.

Alexis

The symbiote replaces the host's immune system, so if it's gone then Teal'c would be left with no immune system and die shortly after.

Michele

I don't think that information has been given yet, and the point of commenting without spoilers includes not giving information that hasn't been released yet on the show.

Tony

Actually, This is information given in a upcoming episode of Season 1. It might be a spoiler to people other than Shannan, Since she's seen all of Season 1 already, but that is out of our control. :)

Michele

I find it easiest to not assume a reactor has already seen future episodes. I do know that Shannan has binged the show, but I didn't now when this info was presented, so I just prefer to play it safe. It could get confusing for my pitiful brain to keep track which shows she's binged and which she hasn't, and how far she's binged a particular show. So I just try to act as if all of then are the same and not binged. Maybe you youngsters are able to do it, but my old brain can't. lol

Tony

No worries, as far as SG-1 is concerned, she'll be watching Season 2 and onward 2 episodes a week once the Revenge slot opens up. It will no longer be a binge show, which also means people will be able to interact with her about the previous weeks episodes much like she does with Arrowverse, OUAT and Revenge to name a few. :)

Well I mean Sha're is Daniel's wife so he obviously mentions her the most and so if everyone else said it different it would just be odd. Now if it were just Jack who couldn't pronounce the name that that would be different and maybe funny

Talon Karrde

If Teal'c went through the thing he would lose his immune system as that's what the Goald does for him and he would die.

Well, from what I heard Michael Shanks didn't really put a lot of effort in trying to pronounce it right. Same for Goa'uld. Personally I always thought it was very lazy of him cause like Daniel is an archaeologist and linguist, he would be the one who should pronounce it right and his actor couldn't be bothered to do it. so yeah

Zoot!

Pretty interesting episode. Thor didn't turn out to be what I expected. I'm glad Thor was more mysterious and God-like than just running around. I bet the hologram looks nothing like what he actually looks like. I like the running story of Daniel and Jack trying to save their loved ones from the goa'ulds (I pronounce it right!!). Teal'c really has some epic eyebrow action, I think I really noticed it the most in this episode.
