There was a hint about Lila when she was fighting with five in a previous episode. She kept disappearing and reappearing in a different place hinting that she was mirroring five's power.

Fortunately she seems to only be able to do one at a time but how did she know she could do that unless she has encountered other people with powers.

I remember watching this episode and being so confused by Lila‘s reveal like “When did they set this up?” I felt like it came a bit out of left field and at the last second. I liked the twist just felt like it was executed a little weird. I did like this season better than the last. But please for the love of god, no apocalypse next season. At least give us a season break before doing another

I’m a little disappointed rewatching the season 2 ending. Having the father meet the kids would have explained so many of his motives. A man clearly stating that he can’t stand children, it would have made sense for him to reconsider if it meant saving the world. If he had been told how dangerous Vanya’s powers are, it would explain why he trained her in private and kept her away from the rest of the children. If he knew he might have to fall back on sedating her with medication, it explains why the children were never told she had powers even at five or seven years old. If he knew Alison’s used “rumor” to hone her power, then it could mean that he trained her to use that word—and only that word—so that she wasn’t commanding people to do things any time she failed to phrase it as a question. A lot of potential was lost here, but I guess circular timelines don’t exist in this universe. Season 3 better make up for it… I think they will.
