Fun fact: this show's version of Nia was incorporated into the comics last week for Pride Month as part of a anthology series focusing on the major queer DC characters like Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Batwoman, etc. with Nia's having been written by the actress herself

I totally understand why you were confused about the situation between Lena and James, so I thought I would try to explain it to you (without spoilers of course) So when we first see Lena she looks really distraught and we don’t know why, and then when she’s asked to help the government she seems like she’s more against it, but she acts like it’s the opposite when she’s with James. Basically there’s something else going on with her which somehow correlates to her trying to “break up” with James, but she uses the thing with the government as the excuse/reason instead. You notice that she tried to rush things and use James to forget what was going in in her personal life by trying to take him to Paris, but then she realized it probably wasn’t going to help anything in the long run. In the “break up” scene she said “It was always inevitable wasn’t it?” as though she had already known for a while that they weren’t going to work out.

Or you could just say, it gets explained later 🤷🏼 Although I think most of the fandom was relieved by the break up, whatever the reason for it.

The original comic character was created as a parody of venom. So it had little to do with the movie, but was still totally venom.

As Chris said, the character was created in 2001, long before the Venom movie in 2018. Venom as a character in the comics was created in 1984. Deadpool/ Wade Wilson started out as a parody of Deathstroke/Slade Wilson. I'm so happy you compared Brainy to Data. I never thought of that before, but now I can kind of see what you might see. I'm just happy you made the comparison.
