Past Shield left the lighthouse in original timeline and in episode 6 you saw May say to general Stoner to flood the lighthouse in away to leave it, think that what happen in the original timeline. And Mack’s parents died in 1976 and he visited their grave in 1982.

Who wants to guess how many more times Coulson will "die" before the series ends? My guess is 4.

The best way to understand the campy moments and genre throwbacks is remembering this is being told from Dekes perspective to May. But they nailed the 80’s down to the Horror B Movie gore overkill. And the robots look similarly close to something from an 80’s horror movie called Chopping Mall. I loved the Mack and Deke storylines though. The character growth and building on this show is some of the best I have ever seen.

Honestly Mack is the probably the one character in all of shield that i don't actually like. I think he comes off as too self righteous too often.

Zoot!

I grew up in the 80's, so this episode was perfect for me. I loved every second of it. Cheesy robots, tons of bad-horror-movie blood, the music, the styles ... they nailed all of it. I love how Deke cares so much about everyone, I'm glad he had the chance to shine in this episode. I really feel for Mack - he went full Fat-Thor here. Max Headroom Coulson might be my new fav version of him :)

2021-07-09 11:14:45 3:23 Actually Shan, this would be WarGames (1983). 6:33 It's been 5 or 6 years, they probably would have had a funeral by now. 19:59 Max Headroom (1985-1988). 31:25 Predator (1987) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTt-jdDEWAw 32:16 Mack as Rambo. 33:24 Short Circuit 1 & 2 (1986 & 1988). It's only been 20 months for Mack & Deke, not those that were on the Zephyr.

You got to stop thinking he is talking to you or people in general. He is talking to an agency that aren’t just supposed to be hired killers. People don’t say this about daredevil and he believes in the same things

Okay, so it's been a while since I watched this episode, but HOLY CRAP!!!!! Has anyone else noticed that Agents of Shield did WandaVision before WandaVision was a thing? Seriously. The keep skipping ahead each episode into another generation. The show mimics the shows of the era. This one is named after Bill and Ted's excellent adventure and incorporated tonnes of pop culture from the decade, including the horrendously bad one liners. There was the black and white episode for crying out loud. You all may have picked up on that by now, but I just figured that out now. I was kind of thinking that back in the Noir episode, but this one really cements it. Even the 70's style filming and muscle car scene. Damn. So awesome. Also, I just half to say. What a long way Deke has come, from the guy who betrayed Daisy to the guy who just wouldn't give up on Mac.
