I'm nowhere near being a Michael Bay fan and the Transformers sequels are proof of that (which is probably why they didn't have him direct the prequel Bumblebee, which I haven't seen but apparently it's the best one), but I will say I do have a soft spot for this movie even though it's cheesy as f**k

Such a pleasant surprise! Armageddon is one of my favorite films ever, definitely top 5! Thanks for the pick Tony!

Brandon Wiesner

Yep. The first Transformers was good and the rest ranged from crappy to really crappy. Bumblebee was awesome, I definitely recommend checking it out! Bay has had some decent flicks though, including this one, The Rock and the first TF.

11:13 Yes Shan, that is Kate's dad on Angel. 20:34 The voice of Solovar (leader of Gorilla City) on The Flash. 27:46 Harry (Bruce Willis) calls the scientist ("Lucius Malfoy") "Mr. Wizard".

Ryan Wilson

"Yup definitely a Micheal Bay movie." Shan, this is the movie that started the whole "Micheal Bay" movie. lol

As a popcorn movie, this thing is ok. Nothing special. The lack of any scientific accuracy just ended it for me. One would get more scientific knowledge by hitting themselves in the head a hundred times with a claw hammer. I've already torn this movie to shreds elsewhere. However, thank you Shannon for taking the time to sit through this thing.

Zoot!

Are there even any fully scientifically accurate movies in existance? I doubt it.

While I was already a huge fan of the movies Bad Boys and The Rock, Armageddon is what really made me become a big fan of Michael Bay as a director(minus what he did with those last couple Transformers films.) This and 13 Hours are my top 2 favorite Bay films, and definitely in my top 5 or 6 favorite all time. Again, this was such a pleasant surprise to see as a reaction.

The Rock, Face/Off, and Con Air - best action Nic Cage trilogy where each one has basically the same scene with him being blow up and thrown through the air. Ha! The Rock is one of my all time popcorn-flick favs.

I think you watched the Director's Cut of the film. The theatrical version is a bit tighter with a very slightly different end. Saw it in the theatre all those years ago and have never forgotten the line, "He doesn't know how to fail."

Actually, Daredevil was after this movie, so that was the reunion for Affleck and MCD.

The woman who played Grace (Liv Tyler) is the daughter of the singer (Steven Tyler) who sings the song at the end (Aerosmith - I Don't Want To Miss A Thing). In the music video, they included parts of her & Bruce Willis's final farewell scene, except Steven was on the TV monitors instead of Bruce. So it was like she was saying goodbye to her real life father.

I enjoyed Deep Impact way more because of its heart centered feel to it

By the way Xander Harris could have stopped that nuke with a simple wire pull
