The guy who plays Alchemy's voice is Tobin Bell, who these days is more known for playing Jigsaw from the Saw movies

The Rival was Jay Garrick's Reverse Flash in the comics.

I actually have a theory that the reason Iris was so upset with her dad this time around is that Joe never got around to actually voluntarily telling Iris what happened and her mom just showed up and blindsided Iris with no warning. So, theoretically, the scene from last season never even happened in this timeline. Consistently throughout the show so far, lying to Iris has been her biggest deal-breaker when it comes to her relationships whether platonic, romantic, or familial. It makes sense for her to be this angry if Joe ended up never telling her and she found out in a terrible or traumatic way.

This is not one of the shows she binges the whole season and then uploads the eps. Even if that were the case, there are those that watch the show with her for the first time. Please be considerate and don't talk about any eps after the ones already posted. the rival is a comic speedster villian just like reverse flash, or zoom or other speedsters that i won't name because of spoilers and it barry a whole season to beat the others and rival wasn't trying to hold back because of needing to use or steal his speed so why wouldn't barry have trouble plus it wouldn't make much of an action scene if he just beat him right away just like other heroes like arrow, supergirl etc or in the comics cartoons, smallville or even marvel stuff, usually there is a little back and forth in a fight and the hero gets knocked down and then comes back if they beat everyone in a punch or two or a single superpowered move it would be pretty boring. just like in action movies or shows the have fight scenes sometimes and other times use guns because shooting everybody in a single shot instead of fighting would be boring. In the comics The Rival is sorta jay's reverse flash instead of zoom and he used the velocity 9 they just changed it up for this version and had him be another speedster from flashpoint and wallys villian instead of jay. he may not be as big of villian as the other but he is from the comics too. he may not be an A list villian you know but he is in the comics not some made up villians just like there are probably a bunch of villians you don't know on arrow or supergirl. i also tihnk sometimes they haven't given some of the other villians there due and had them show up once or twice where they are a bigger deal in the comics.

Plus, Barry had just been badly blasted by Alchemy so he was already weakened, and was not able to recover enough to fight back until Cisco showed up. Once that happened, he was able to handily beat Rival.
