You talked over the whole part where they were listing out what powers Mon-El has and doesn't have, you might want to re-watch that part so you understand his power level. He's not as powerful as a Kryptonian.

Remember, the show is in a different location now, maybe the actor for Maxwell Lord couldn't do the gig anymore /shrug

So, you have picked up on the first inklings of potential new relationships. J’onn and M’gann have a very interesting dynamic because of the secret that is being kept and the implications of what it would mean if/when it is revealed. Alex and Maggie is also quite interesting. Alex’s sexuality has never been confirmed. Her date with Max in season 1 was in actuality just a ruse so that she could uncover his scheme. I think Max may have been interested in her, because really why wouldn’t he be, she’s awesome, but there was never any real connection between them even if there was some chemistry. Kara and Mon-El are shipped by a large segment of the fandom but I am definitely not one of them. As I have said before, comic accuracy is important to me, and in the comics Mon-El is a de facto member of the House of El. Kal sees him as a big brother and mentor. Kara treats him as she does Kal, like a cousin. To me, shipping them feels kinda icky, borderline incestous. But I can understand why someone who is not familiar with how the characters are presented in the comics would ship them. They’ve made Mon-El into a charming bad boy type and that’s appealing to a lot of the fanbase.

Draaga (the alien that appeared in this episode) and Warworld (the planet ruled by Mongul that Mon-El saw Draaga fight) were also in a 2 part Justice League episode where Superman was forced to fight him. Also, in the comics Maggie Sawyer was in a relationship with Batwoman. And the reason why Maxwell Lord isn't here is because the actor didn't wanna move to Vancouver after production moved for Season 2

I wanted to expand a bit on the secret of the white martian, for us, the audience, I think the reveal is ok. It allows us to look at her in another light like she is hiding something, possibly even a negative figure (if you've never seen the comics or other shows) so the reveal isn't so much about J'onn, but how we the audience view the upcoming interactions between M'gann and J'onn, so that WE know, but he doesn't. I feel they will work a story around him that will be interesting, and that all revolves on us first knowing the truth so we as the audience knows, but J'onn doesn't. So that's why the reveal to the audience now, and not later, now we can look at their interaction in a new light.
