This is my favorite episode of the show... I thought everything was about to change. Then, the rug... pulled. So well done, though.

Mementovitae

Such an underrated show.

Chaotic Cam

Both Dollhouse and Angel are out early on my birthday, I'm so happy! :D

Shan, quick question. When you started Dollhouse, and now to this episode, is this show AT ALL what you thought it was going to be? It was at this point in the show where I really started to think about ramifications. Oh the possibilities. I think people say; "Oh what a tangled web we weave...".

Dana

My birthday too! ^.^ Happy Birthday!

Chaotic Cam

This is definitely my favorite episode of the show. The ending scenes are so amazing as well. The shot of echo leading them all out? Also I fell in love with the song at the end. It's called Lonely Ghosts by O+S if anyone wants to know.

This is one of my favorite episodes of the series, if not my absolute favorite. It's so good. It really gives you insight into the Dolls while raising many more questions. And Sierra's backstory is tragic. It's awful what happened to her. But that scene with her and Victor near the end is so good. I love them together.

Melazond

I love that song! I thought it was by Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancheroen! I'm pretty sure that's them singing.

Melazond

On rewatch I am even more angry about Sierra.

Alexis Cardarella

One of my favorites of the series. Sierra & Victor 🥰

Really enjoy this eps and your reaction.

I'd like to think that anyone who volunteers to go through a memory wipe type of deal has a very strong reason and it must have to do with something horrible that happened to them at that point in time. Whatever it may be, they were willing to go through this just like what Adele said about giving them a second life or something so yeah... Reminds me of this character (anime) whose life's been brought back by the main antagonist but before he died, he was being controlled by a demon to kill his family. Then just before his sister died, he regained consciousness and was aware of what he just did and was immediately killed. Such a painful memory to live by. He's been brought to life again but he refuses to remember what happened to him then. I'd say these Actives probably have gone through something so traumatic, so horrible, it's best to remove them to keep them sane. But I love that scene with Echo forcing Topher in the "chair" and you know that although they're "trying to help" or they think they're doing something right, Echo's got a point and it's sick and twisted. I mean, let's just ignore the whole removing the horrible past memories but then replacing them with anything that they can use to benefit their clients, downright demeaning actually.

I feel like if such a thing were to be in reality it has long term repercussions and years of counselling I guess... But then again, I think the same thing's been done with people being brainwashed by some corrupt ideologists or authorities in the past that still apply even today. I'm sure those who are in authority will use those who are like Topher to create a device to remove memories and replace them and make it sound "great"... it could lead to chaos, etc. lol I mean, there are just people out there who use their talents and intelligence not for morally right purposes 😟 but rather, their sick twisted fantasies

BOO

Yeah I always felt like this one was really solid, I'm so glad you liked it Shan :)

This episode just showed that even though on the surface the dollhouse isn't ultimately evil per se(till this point we have been consistently told that all actives agreed to this like you would agree to a job, and signed the contract and are being returned to their life after 5 years or so), they are clearly drawing the line to the bad side when it turns out that Priya(Sierra) so clearly did not "volunteer" to be a doll, but was essentially kidnapped and forced there by a man she refused, so he can rape her any time he wants. So yeah...
