Welp, i'm hooked. Saw this pilot when it first aired, but was purposefully distracting myself and at the time I did not keep up with the show...mostly because I was looking for a Battlestar Galactica or SG1 replacement and 'Dark Matter' peaked my interest more since it had a very Firefly/SG1 setup. But now that my past saltiness of losing BSG is gone, I will catch up on this show...seems as though the world of this show is very Game of Thrones/Battlestar Galactica -esque in its separate story lines and large scale.

I am a little sad you din't enjoy it. It is one of the better shows out there, but if a specific genre is not your thing, there is no point to force it.

Birds look weird because of low gravity. It takes a few episodes to start to reveal the politics of Earth v Mars v Asteroid belt plus plot twists. I grew to love this show.

I’m not a big sci-fi fan either, Shan. The first few episodes are heavily involved- you’re not stupid, and slow in a sense. But let me tell you, it grows on you...

new patron here, so my words probably don't mean much, but... The Expanse really is one of the better written/acted/produced series currently airing (albeit between seasons right now), but all that is moot if you don't enjoy the sci fi genre... particularly hard sci fi where, the science is fact... unlike Star Trek or Star Wars etc

I agree. I liked the expanse, but it got to be a bit much even fore after a while. I guess I'm not as hard core sci-fi as I'd like to think. It's still a good show.
