Oh my god yes. This is one of my favorite shows!

CaptainNice

I assumed you'd hate this because of all the reading. Well that was fun. You've already done some thinking on some on the topics raised. I think this would be an interesting reaction series. (I binged this on Netflix because Lea Thompson is in it. I saw Howard the Duck in the theater and she was the best part.)

Tom Tattershall

Great pilot, very interesting set up for a teen/family drama. I watched it as it originally aired for all 5 seasons.

Bria Bey

I loved this show when it was on. I've seen all 5 seasons. It really is informative on deaf culture.

Ryuichi Yasuda

Oh this takes me back. I was a big fan of the first couple of seasons of this show! And your dad is an amazing person!

BaoziBang

I would actually really enjoy to see you react to more episodes of this. There are only a few People that reacted to this Show at all and none watched more than a few episodes - every single one of them where totally caught of guard by the sign language and the "weird way they speak" which put me totally of Reactions to this show till I saw yours. If you ever want to check out more episodes I would love it 🖤

God, I could not stand Bay's dad here. And to some extent, her mom. They kept pushing and pushing, like they had some sort of right over Daphne's life. And something tells me they wouldn't exactly be too happy if Regina had tried to do the same with Bay.

Lostmyshoe22

I had never seen this before but I actually really like that.

UTU49

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that was a typo or an autocorrect mishap. ;)

MittenCrab

I'm not going to lie. Barf (Bird) Tier story time with ASR was the best part of this reaction. Thanks Bob.

Bria Bey

You are going to assume what is a typo or auutocorrect mishap?

peggin

I'm going to agree with UTU49 and assume you meant deaf culture and not death culture.

I think there are problems with all 3 of the parents in these early episodes. The Kennishes are rich, entitled white people who seem to think they should have anything they want and, like you said, I get the impression that they felt entitled to both Bay and Daphne. But I also have a problem with Regina for acting pretty hostile when the Kennishes asked what were, IMO, perfectly reasonable questions for people unfamiliar with deaf culture to ask. They have questions, and they're trying to learn, and Regina was acting like there was something wrong with the fact that they didn't already know the answers.

I watched the first few episodes. Not sure why I didn't continue watching it. Maybe I'll start it up again. Regarding your personal story Shan. Very interesting. I can't imagine what it's like, coming from a mostly stable family environment. And a large family by your standards (three brothers, three sisters and me, all in a nine year span).

UTU49

I like this show. I'm not sure how much of it I watched, but I watched it for a while and I liked it. Weird SAB fact. The 2 lead actresses are 6 years apart in age, even though their characters had to have been born within days of each other. I think they're both really good though.

Tammy L. Faulkner

I was surprised you didn't reconize "Marcel" in the first scene... Oh and the dark haired girl, "Bae" played on Gilmore girls, not sure is you caught that or not. As for this show, it all started with a movie. I may have to watch the show now that I've seen that ep with you, but the movie was pretty good. Maybe you should give it a shot someday.

Hi Shan. I admire your dad's attitude. Love is the most important thing in family. My older brother and sister-in-law adopted four children, all with the same biological mother. The fact that they were not biologically theirs did not matter.
