I also wasn't paying attention enough in the beginning to realize that they were driving a Mustang, I think it was after the second death that it clicked. Also "another Angel, the one in the dirty trench coat who's in love with you" always makes me laugh

I was surprised you didn't notice it wasn't the impala too. You did really good on everything else though! This episode is interesting and poignant on the Ellen and Bobby element, but there are several weak parts that get in the way of the story for me. Fate? ugh. Yet one more thing they bring in that muddies things in my mind. So Fate's been a player this whole time? And so everything that the boys have ever done has been affected by this Fate character to some extent? She's had a hand in things all along? I hate that sort of thing inserted into the show that weakens everything else - at least to me.

Fate, the Reapers, Death himself, even bringing in the other Godly Pantheons etc, kind of did/does clutter everything up a fair bit. A big part of why a lot of people dropped the show, I think, they could't get over these seeming weaknesses and that the show was no longer, and never really going to be again, what it was during season one through three... For myself, I just learned to enjoy the show for what it was, and that it simply is fun as Hell. That and the fact that Sam and Dean are mostly always fun to watch, thanks in big part to Jared and Jensen, idk. But I can/do get why that could not be enough for some, I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh, I still love the show. I'm just one of those fans who can criticize things while still loving it. Seasons 1-5 will always be special to me, and I'm still adjusting to the changes. Even after all these years. But I think the show is still great. I don't find all of those items you mentioned a problem. I just don't like weak writing and poor execution of story elements. I'm always going to push for them to do better and complain when I think they've dropped the ball on things.

JoDaNa81 - I've actually seen a few comments from people who don't like seasons 4 or 5 at all. The demon, and then angel story concentrations turned some people off.
