hi i just want to explain something to people that may be slightly confused. I do not have too many shows.

I am only ever a few hours late when uploading and that doesn't mean I'm overwhelmed or anything.

I want to explain, I can sit down and watch the rest of Buffy, Angel, TVD, TO, SPN, AOS, Arrow or Flash on camera tomorrow easily. It's that I want to ENJOY watching the show.

What I'm trying to say is, it's easy to wake up tomorrow, shower - put my makeup on and record the remaining reactions and have them out to you always on time etc without the week off.

It's not overwhelming at all, I am able to handle the shows I have. But if I did that, I wouldn't be able to soak in the emotions of an episode. I wouldn't be able to enjoy the episode to its fullest and honestly... the shows that we both enjoy together would end quicker. I don't want it to end so fast, I wanna enjoy this amazing experience with you guys.

That is why I want to take a week off each month. It doesn't mean I'm going to be doing it every single month until the end of time, it's just for now. Wouldn't you rather reactions that are enjoyable to watch rather than someone staring at the screen waiting and hoping for the hour to end?

ALSO just to clarify, I don't know how to actually have time off so on the weeks I have off, all i'll be doing is recording and editing reactions anyway... just not uploading...

just to reiterate

I do not have too many shows, I am not overwhelmed.

Good to know your not overwhelming yourself. I know you see making videos as a job, which is great, but I think what some of us worry about is whether or not your also taking your weekends off like any other job. It's no ones business what you do at any point, but its as if we know you as a person and want you to stay healthy, not just physically but also mentally and emotionally so that we can keep knowing you, if that makes any since. I know with most people, including myself, get drained from work and just wish we can quite but the money and having to live in this world is whats keeping us going, not our love for our jobs. As a fan, friend or even Patreon/YouTube family member of yours, whatever you see us as, I hope your making time to go out on occasions and spending time with family. Your not the only one not knowi9how to take time off... I only watch YouTube, CW on my phone and you on my days off... I have no personal life and sometimes really wish I did, especially now that I am in my 30s. You push out more videos than any other reactors I've watched and I love it. No buts. Your a pleasure to enjoy every day and the most entertaining part of my life... Well, unless you count my cats... I want to see your videos all the time, and if you decided to go down to 1 video per day I would still be here. Don't worry about what others are thinking or saying, not even me, I just wanted to give my 2 cents and express what is going on in my head. We love you and only wish the best for you. Hope you don't think I overstepped with my way too long post here... BTW, I am so looking forward to you MHA reaction, whenever that is😊 Such a great show... and it's my first real anime I've gotten into other than The Devil is a Part-timer, wish they did more than just 1 season with that one...

I know this is unrelated but I was wondering if you still play Sims 4? If so, what do you think of Sims 4 Get Famous?

when I first watched Buffy it was on network tv. we had to wait weeks in between shows, sometimes more and a year in between seasons. I think the wait absolutely helped with the emotional aspect of the show. So take your time because it will be a better experience for you and for us.

KiwiJello

Sooo, then you have too many shows? Just kidding! Do what you need to do for your own piece of mind. Nobody wants crazy, cranky Shan doing reactions. If I wanted that I would watch Winnie the Pooh with Eeyore :)

Danna

I'm sorry if people are making you feel pressured to upload new reactions all the time. Don't get me wrong, I get super excited when I see you've posted a new reaction to a show I love, but I definitely wouldn't want you to feel like you have to keep uploading new videos all the time. I guess some people just feel entitled to new uploads or something, but most of your supporters are just that... supporters 😄

David Caine

Exactly, the wait for the shows made us crave for the story and the characters in a way that a weekly schedule cannot match episode after episode season after season.

David Caine

With some of the stuff going on in the shows, a break from the heaviness of emotions absolutely helps to renew the intensity of desire to enjoy the adventures of a show and its characters. A strict schedule is too mechanical and artificial. The shows are always there to be watched and adding the "responsibility" of obligation takes away some of the fun of spontaneity for the reactor. The kind of spontaneity where you feel you are going to have fun and enjoy the experience of watching because you craved the show. And sometimes life happens and our energy is not up there to best enjoy the things we like the way we like. A break is the smartest thing to replenish zest and enthusiasm for our enjoyment.

Ronrico Albright

Don't worry, Shan. We're gonna support you no matter what. Do what you feel is best.

S144

You are contradicting yourself. First you argue that you want to take a week off each month to have more time between episodes in order to 'be able to soak in the emotions of an episode'. But then you said that on the weeks you have off you'll be "recording and editing reactions anyway". Since on Patreon you upload un-edited reactions, I don't understand your reasoning for not uploading them.

Zac0002

pretty sure its to catch up on other shows like arrow and shield that she doesnt want to put out till shes seen the full seaosn

Andrew Pulrang

There’s a reason why jobs with payrolls and set hours, and where they care about the work being high quality, have vacation time for workers. It’a no different for what you are doing. Better to plan out regular breaks and let us know in advance than to burn yourself out and not be able to do reactions at all.

NewStealth

"then you said that on the weeks you have off you'll be 'recording and editing reactions anyway' " Yes but obviously taking her time with it, and not according to any kind of schedule or external pressure or expectation, we'll be providing that external expectation if she uploaded it anyway

Nancy Nicolai

Sweetie please try not feel pressure from these ppl they just get excited and they also sometimes get a little rude and since you need to do what's good for you and your family YOU DO NOT NEED TO FEEL GUILT ABOUT THAT & I at least am sure that you will get out your reactions when you're damn good and and ready to bc there's a little word that you need learn as you grow older I had to learn this word for my own sanity it is NO bc I used to be a ppl pleaser I said yes to everyone and I was spread so thin I made myself physically sick and had to learn to say no to a lot of ppl or not today so its good to take some time take it from an old(er)lady and take care(slow down on the soda ,drink more water ,eat fruit & veg)!!👵💅🍋🍅🍓🍐🍆🍠🍉🍳🌞

It's just my own opinion, but 1 week breaks sounds too long. I'm talking about "internet" time. There are so many videos out there and if I don't have a reason check someone's channel for a whole week, I tend to forget it and focus on something else. I'm not saying I'll forget your channel, it's impossible since you are the best reactor I've seen, but a week long break would dampen the interest somewhat. Maybe you could upload just 1 reaction video (prepared in advance) in the middle of your week break or have one of your moderators do it for you.

Jason Veevaert

Yeah take your time all is good ;)

Michael Roach

As always 100% with you, you know I've thought this often myself, that I would prefer you slow down and go through these episodes (Buffy, Angel, AOS) much more slowly so that each one takes on a greater meaning. There's no real rush or at least there shouldn't be. They go by fast enough as it is, take your time, don't worry what anyone else thinks you're doing the right thing for your own enjoyment of the shows you're watching. The most important thing is, you can only watch a show for the first time once.

Ryuichi Yasuda

Yup, right there with you! Enjoy the week off :)

AfterShowReactions

Scot and Zac both are correct here. If I kept uploading to Patreon, you guys would be 2 weeks ahead of YT and not only is that more pressure, but it would confuse the hell out of me when creating schedules. I am a simple person, I like to do things the easiest way. I say I'm going to be recording and editing on my break but it's not going to be my primary goal. I would have no stress of having x show out on x day so I would be able to enjoy it a lot more.

Mike Woodcock

You are very industrious, and we appreciate the quality control measures. Enjoy your free time.

Melazond

I want to revel in the shows you're experiencing too. please take your time!

sadly the first episode was loaded with feminism propaganda... huge fan of the original show.... so was really looking forward to it... but i have a policy against watching any propaganda. disappointing really.

Scarlett Monrow

Titan A lot if not most of the new shows are filled with feminist propaganda. Strange thing, I never met a feminist in my life and I work with different people for 20+ years. So for whom are they making these PC shows?
