Ugh people suck. Honestly I've watched a lot of reactions of a lot of different shows, and sometimes the reactors really hate characters I love (Game of Thrones is particularly problematic for this) to the point that it turns me off watching so much that I don't want to watch that reactor anymore - so I don't. I just don't subscribe to that reactor. It's a very very very simple solution to the problem. People who feel the need to react maliciously because someone doesn't have the same opinions as them on a FANTASY TV SHOW are quite frankly just malicious people. As for Matt, I'm not going to confirm or deny what that person said (as doing either would be a spoiler). But remember that Matt is very much a side character in this series - his death or survival is never going to be a huge plot point to the story so try not to worry <3. Also on the subject of Matt - I think he's struggling extra in school because remember he has no family, so he works crazy hours to pay for housing and living expenses. But I would argue Elena should be failing far worse than him given her recent absences lol. I'm gonna be honest that I'm actually more on Matt's side than Rebekah's in this episode, despite the fact that I love her and hate him lol. Rebekah is a sympathetic character, but she's certainly not an angel. She has done really really terrible things, and I don't think she "deserved" the cure anymore than anyone else. Now she's feeling self-pity, which is fine, but why should she expect everyone else to feel bad for her? I would also argue that Katherine was right about her - I think that she wants a re-do on her life more than she wants to be human, and that's not what the cure does. Does she really think her brothers will leave her alone and she'll fall in love just because she's human? Many humans have shitty lives. I think what would actually be best for Rebekah is for her to get to know herself and respect herself, because so much of her life up until now has been about Klaus. I ship Rebekah/self-care! And my heart breaks for Elena 3. She never asked or wanted to have her humanity off, Damon forced it on her (not blaming him, as he thought he could turn it back on whenever). And now she has to deal with all her pain from before as well as the ashes of what was left or her life.

Yay! Finally a little appreciation for Matt... Also, shes the only real HUMAN in the mix... He works a lot more than a high school student should... hes helping in supernatural situations, such as in this episode and trying to go to school. And again... His mind is on other things. Glad to see your able to see something good in him finally.

Matt has to work to pay for everything. He also isn’t very bright. The real question is how is Elena passing? How many days of school did she even make it to this year... When Rebecca offers to help Matt, until graduation, what’s up with that. You’re rich you could easily solve all his problems with a check.

Lets never forgot that Elaina was willing to die in order to save Matt at the end of season 3. It's kind of poetic that he would be the one to bring her humanity back. Viewers might hate Matt but he's Elaina's oldest friend and one of her key ties to humanity/love....whether we like it or not.

I also find it disgusting that someone would spoil a show for you just because you dislike a character. Not everyone is going to have the same opinions, so people like that need to stop being little sooks and grow up. So sorry that has happened to you shan.

No... Matt doesnt survive.. De dies next season. Sorry... Just joking. That's seriously fucked up for some one to tldo that. We all know how much you hate for ppl to spoil stuff... I've said it before, Matt is not a needed or loved character, but he is good and has helped to get the vamps out of some situations. However, i wouldn't say you shouldnt like someone just based off of that, its your choice... Just liked your hate for Riley was ypur chice. I feel like Riley played his part in a few eps but no one was sad to really see him go. Oz had little to no real reason to be either, but everyone loved him. It's yoyr prerogative, your ideals are your own. You oviously are more into the characters that st8ck out and are unique.

I've always liked Matt, he's easily in my top 10 characters on this, but then I stopped watching TVD after the season 4 final only to watch two other episodes later on. So maybe if I had stuck around that would have changed or not. But it sucks that it was spoiled for you. I get that it's hard to hear a reactor talk badly about a character you like, I have that too, but then I simply don't watch the reaction anymore. Just like I don't watch, if I feel the reactor isn't been honest, but simply saying they love things because it's the expected reaction the audience wants. And you have a lot of those.
