When Tyrone, Tandy and her mom held hands, they both entered her mind. Remember Dagger sees somone's hopes, while Cloak sees their fears. So the show in the theater was the ideal life, where they're happy together. She tore through that though and saw what really happened. She would not have been able to access that without Cloak there though, because her mom was repressing it. He was able to show her how it really was. Anyway, 2 more eps! I'm sure this is coming back too.

Now that they’ve gotten into more about the rig explosion and the energy source, I would strongly suggest you watched Agent Carter, which also has some tie-ins with AoS. Its pretty interesting. And yes, O’Reilly was referring to Misty Knight. It was really surprisingly pleasant how many connections (potential connections) this show has with the rest of the MCU.

There's also a lot of really clever metaphor work in all of the mental landscapes, especially this one where it starts as a theater and then they go behind the screen. It also serves as a direct callback to when her mother was talking about being at the movies - or maybe the ballet. That conversation sets up the way we can choose to remember things they way we would have liked them to be instead of how they were. As for the fridge at the end, it's a reversal of the classic and infamous comic book trope in which Green Lantern (Kyle Raynor)'s girlfriend Alexandra is discovered murdered and stuffed in a fridge. This led to a list called Women in Refrigerators detailing all the female characters brutalized, raped or killed for the sake of advancing the plot of or providing motivation to male characters. So this is kind of a flip of that trope.
