I sort of vaguely remember the twists in this season but not the specifics, that said I realised half way through this episode, when they started noticing another person on the Island, how this one was going to end :D. I think actually IIRC had a massive long gap to wait for the next episode when it was airing in the UK, possibly a midseason finale?

I have a theory. If an original takes the cure do all the vampires in their blood line become human too, in the same way that killing an original kills all the vampires in their bloodline?

I honestly, think the writer sort of screwed up what Elena said and meant. I think how it was supposed to come out was that Elena thought. That there were other people before her that deserves the cure than her, not that she actually thought she deserved the cure above anyone else. Furthermore as the episode with Cole, and her Truce with Cole, she didn't really want the cure really, it was other people wanting to shove it down her throat. As far as there be only one dose, well it honestly, they do call it THE Cure, singular. Though i suppose it could be plural. Yet if there was more than the one dose, I think it wouldn't be called, just The Cure..
