"A Hole In The World" "The Day The World Went Away"... The world doesn't like Amy Acker. I'm sorry for fans of the ship but I personally feel that this was a good fit for Root since she started as a fanatic of The Machine and remained the truest believer. This was Amy's favorite episode. Elias... I go back and forth as to bringing him back in episode 5 to kill him in episode 10. This was a cooler death than if 4x22 was his end, but I don't know if it was necessary. He's been the one to hint since season 2 that Finch has another side/is the one to watch out for. Finch... he's fed up and it's great. That monolog was fantastic. Michael Emmerson is a treasure.

I got the distinct feeling Root knew what was about to happen, and in her own way, tried to both comfort Harold and inspire him to continue the fight against Samaritan. Elias exits as a hero and also, in the safe house, joined in what may be the last gathering of the entire Team Machine. As for Root and Shaw, knowing where the story was heading, and how fast, the writers did give them their moment in the fantasy episode. Who's to say they didn't act out that night together in the real world as well. At least that's something.

That was no way for Keith Mars to die. They got you with the double death fake out Shan. You should have known Root's fate when you saw the word "world" in the title of an Amy Acker episode, Also the only good make out for Root and Shaw was in a simulation. I am blue, or at least parts of me are

I hate they killed off Root so much she was my favorite character in the show , when this show first aired i was so angry about her death i quit the show and didn't watch the rest of the season until about 5 months later , i recall killing Root off was a very unpopular decision and it caused quite a meltdown among a big part of the fandom especially the Root & Shaw fans

Agreed. They were telling their story, but, unfortunately fell into the "Bury your Gays" trope. Times are different now and were it being filmed today, I strongly believe the writers would have found a way for Root to avoid this fate.
