When I first watched this I was surprised as well. It’s definitely one of the better reboots and I kind of like it better than the original in some aspects. Can’t wait for you to watch season 2. I’m not gonna lie though I think I stopped watching it around the beginning of season 2. Not because I didn’t like it, I think I just got busy and it slipped my mind. So I’ll be coming in blind with you 🙂

Creepy predators are bad enough, but creepy predators who can get into your mind and control and manipulate you, are so much worse and disturbing. To reiterate a little bit of my comment I made, just a little to late for the last episode. After watching Noah assault both the body and mind of Isobel and Rosa and just be overall terrible. Whenever I see the actor in other shows, I always immediately think of Noah, which is fine for shows like the Flash where he was the villain but not so great for shows where he's not. Usually I wouldn't like it when they take out a villain they've been building up most of the season so quickly in the finale, but I was just glad not to have to hear Noah make any more excuses how he wasn't that bad, call Rosa his property and treat Isobel like she was a puppet. I was happy that they brought Rosa back, I liked her in all the flashbacks and always felt really bad for her and everything she had to go through before she died. It was also not something I thought was even remotely a possibility, so I was surprised as well. I've also since become a fan of the actress Amber Midthunder, I thought she was great in the movie Prey. I also liked that Kyle took out Manes, I thought that scene was great. Overall, I was surprised about how much I enjoyed the season, I definitely went into it with low expectations, kind of expecting I would hate it, but I enjoyed this first season and your reactions quite a bit.

I really liked this episode the first time I saw it, but on re-watch, the last 5 minutes or so really bothered me. Liz could feel Max die across town because of their connection from the night before. That makes sense. But why didn't Isobel feel anything? Max could always sense when anything was wrong with her. You'd think it would work the other way. Then Rosa comes out of the cave and tells Liz not to panic. Why is Rosa not panicking? She woke up in a cave with a dead Max next to her. She then walks out of the cave to see Liz, who is 10 years older than the last time she saw her. Rosa doesn't know anything about aliens. She should be freaking out. I agree with you on character deaths. Max dying reminded me that Julie Plec is an executive producer of this show.
