There were definitely some odd choices in this episode. Like you said, Ally pretty much cameoed here. So close to the series finale too. Hey it's the mayor of Gotham! Anyway, I think it would have been a great sendoff for Elaine if she auditioned, got the part and went on tour with the show. But they did this whole episode of her doing the initial audition, not getting a callback, her sleeping with the director, him not calling her back after that either and then Nell of all people going to bat for her? Then she gets called back, supposedly kills the audition but still doesn't get cast? If they already cast the part, why have her audition again? Was the whole point of this storyline to give Nell a bit more humanity? I don't buy it. The case with Fish's dad ended how it should. He did terminate her unjustly. However, Liza (Ricci) calling him a "very moral man" in her closing, him winning back his wife and them renewing their vows didn't make sense because he STILL HAD MULTIPLE AFFAIRS! She said the reason she stayed before was for the sake of the kids. Well the kids are grown up now and they don't seem to have much of a relationship with Richard. We haven't even seen them until this episode. Why would someone stay with someone else that cheated on them multiple times? We're supposed to believe that love conquers all. Sorry but love shouldn't conquer infidelity, especially in a marriage. I was wondering why Ally's daughter wasn't in the credits and it was funny how they only showed the back of her head. It most likely wasn't Hayden. They are doing some weird things with the cast, more so than any other season. I do hope the last 2 episodes end up being at least better than most of this season. I'm not sure if you will do them both together. I believe it might be a 2 parter. This could be the last comment reading for the show. I just wanted to say, I appreciate you sticking through the show during its worst time. I didn't watch the show when it aired, so watching with you was the first viewing for me. There was a time when the show was really good. But this season is a shell of that show. If they could go back and make a better series finale for season 4, it would have been much easier to get through to the end. But this season happened and well, it is what it is I guess. But here we are and crossing fingers that the show ends on a good note but not holding my breath.
