I personally really enjoyed the episode but I can see why you found it to be mediocre, also the name change for Penguin doesn’t bother too much like most but it is interesting that they decided to change it to make it more “grounded”. Makes me a little more excited for the DCU version of Batman which I’m sure will embrace the fantastical side of the characters and world, but I’m also still craving for The Batman Part II, I think it’ll be great

This episode did feel a bit slow to me, like not much was happening. It kind of felt like this could have been one of two or three plots in a 40 minute episode. I feel like something else needed to be going on or maybe just condensed into a shorter episode. Regardless, I'll probably keep watching to see if things pick up.

I liked this episode. I think the Penguin in TB was an interesting character and this show gives you a deeper dive into who he is. I'm not really bothered by the name change. To me, it is just like his first name Oz is short for Oswald, Cobb is also short for Cobblepot. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if at some point during the show, he comes to that realization of what his full name is. I do like gangster movies/shows, so I like the tone of the show, the whole struggle between the Falcones and the Maronis, and where Penguin fits in. It's reminding me of Gotham so far, how he was playing both sides. It's also interesting because Penguin is clearly a villain and they're not trying to give him much in the way of redeeming qualities, like they do with a lot of things like this. Yes, he talks straight and is fair to those around him, if they treat him with respect but he is still a bad guy doing bad things. I like that they are not softening him up just because he's the protagonist. I would like to see you continue to watch it. I understand if you don't and I would still be watching it on my own. But hopefully you'll give it more chances.

Two previous Penguin actors are referenced in shop signs: "Burgess Jewelry Design and Repair" is named after Burgess Meredith who played the Penguin in Batman (1966) and its spin-off movie. "Danny's Roofing Corp" is named after Danny DeVito who played the Penguin in Batman Returns (1992). I liked it for myself. Of course I like gangster shows. As far as you watching, that's up to you. If you don't like, there is not much point in your reacting to it. I say give it another episode and see if you feel different.

I really hope you continue The Penguin sometime in the future.
