The first time I watched this movie I actually didn't like it that much. Didn't like it as much as I could not like a Scream movie, since I love the franchise. I don't know, for some reason I didn't love the fake openings that much, also this was marketed as a new trilogy, but they killed all the new characters which annoyed me. I also guessed the killer right away, at the scene in the house after the friend got killed, I started suspecting Jill and everything that happened kept making me more certain and I like to be surprised, so I was disappointed. Also, in some unfairness on my part, I really love Scream 3, I think it's fun and I liked that it tied all 3 movies together, but I always hear how much people think that movie sucks, so when I noticed similarities to that movie in this one, with a family member of Sidney's we didn't know about previously, turning out to be the killer, all the new characters being killed other then the cop, I was a little unfair about it with my whole no one liked Scream 3, well I don't like Scream 4 then, attitude. However on rewatches, when you already know who the killer is and your not watching it to be surprised, I can enjoy the deranged performance of Emma Roberts as Jill and after hearing about Wes Craven's original plans, I actually quite like the movie and I honestly think it's better than 3.

2024-05-27 02:48:56 Just a note, 1. Garage doors will not close if something is within the door path. 2. The drive unit has a built in sensor that stops the door from closing if it encounters any pressure. But I know, expecting realism in a scream movie is silly.

The drive unit has a built in sensor that stops the door from closing if it encounters any pressure. But I know, expecting realism in a scream movie is silly. But it's annoying when they take it to ridicules levels. Like when Sidney kicks him in head and he gets knocked out, immediately after the cops come in door but even though they are facing the killer, from 6 feet away they don't see him get up and run away. Or later when stabs the cop through his forehead, nope, not even The Rock is strong enough to do that. It takes a drill or a hammer and chisel to cut through skull bone. Its just stupid. Also after all the shit they have gone trough, the moment they learned that people are being killed, why aren't they all all carrying guns on them ALL THE TIME. Man Dewey makes Stormtroopers look like precision snipers.
