Question to my Patrons (Patreon)
Content
I've had an idea in my head for a while, but I wanted to consult this with you before doing anything radical.
The first question is:
Why did you decide to support me on Patreon?
Was it because I was offering exclusive and early content on it?
Was it because of a particular reward?
Was it because you liked my content?
Was it because you genuinely wanted to support me, not even taking in consideration the "rewards" that came with it?
Is there another reason?
I'm asking these questions because I'm starting to think about that sort of "paywall" that has been built around my content, and how people might actually perceive it from the outside in the first place.
My original idea when I joined Patreon was to be able to create even more content, using the economical support you provided me, ideally to the point I could stop concerning about any financial problem that the artist life has brought to me.
However, as much as I love what I do, my main stress in life is still about my economical condition, and I wanted to take that out of the equation, to give even more to everybody in the world, even for non patrons.
So, I've been thinking and rethinking this:
Should I make at least part of my Patreon activity, or even all of it, accessible to everyone, returning to instant share of the content into every social media?
Of course, this would mean a reevaluation in the type of rewards that I could offer to you that decided to support me.
Another possible choice is to leave a time spawn between 3 or 4 months in which the content would be shared freely for everyone to see it.
I noticed that you found the creative process a bit interesting, yet not necessary for your support. And I figured that there must be somebody out there that might find it actually valuable, and hasn't seen it yet because it's hidden behind that Patreon "paywall."
I personally never liked the term paywall. It just reminds me of how many businesses nowadays charge naive people for stuff that should be already delivered with the product. Most of them have the mentality of, "give me money first, and I'll give you this in separate pieces" (pay extra for DLC... XD), and that's not precisely what I want.
I want to able to make a living delivering great content for everyone to enjoy, and become a great independent content creator, not just another freelancer trying to make a quick buck out of their fans.
I don't judge that kind of model, either. People need the money as much as anybody does, but I don't want the money to be the main reason I'm doing this. That can come along with the content I'll be producing.
Nevertheless, before I did something drastic, I wanted to hear your opinions about it because you're the awesome group of people that decided to support me, even when nobody else does at the moment.
Should I share more with everybody? Do you feel it would have an implication in the way you support me? Or it would simply upset you?
Maybe it doesn't upset you, but you'd think that it wouldn't be the best move for me to make. I want to hear anything you'd like to share.

Finally, I would like you to know that you're free to correct ANY grammar issues that you find in my English statements. That would greatly help me to improve the way I express every idea in my second language, making it easier for me to communicate with you.
If you can do it in Patreon before moving the piece to all social media, it would be the best since I won't have to correct the same error everywhere.
Thanks a lot for your time, and I'll see you in the next update :)
