[If you are not interested in reading, then the short version: I added some Images & a short story to the "AI-Image" Category and I will now start doing image/sets again, but I'm still unsure which model to use.]

Rambling

I want to take a moment to share some reflections with you because you're the ones I can really talk to about this, and it's been quite an emotional journey for me, to be honest.

Over the past week, I've dedicated around 14 to 16 hours each day to my project, and now I have some initial results to share, though my feelings about them are mixed, to say the least.

I must admit, I'm not entirely satisfied. There's still a significant amount of work ahead, particularly in terms of improving the dataset itself.

When I first saw the new results, I was shocked and felt like all my efforts had been in vain. It hit me hard, and I spent half the day in bed feeling pretty depressed.

Since then, I've made numerous adjustments, and while it's starting to resemble what I envisioned more closely again, I still have reservations, especially regarding the changes in art style and the increased randomness I've noticed in style consistency.

Perhaps I just need more time to get used to it, having only used the new model for a few hours now.

Ideally, I'd like to complete the model entirely before moving on, but as a content creator, I also need to produce actual content, right?

Additionally, I've run out of time in several ways. Firstly, you've all been waiting patiently for quite some time now. Secondly, my "vacation" from my daytime job is over, so I can't dedicate as much time to this daily anymore. And lastly, the mental toll of creating a dataset from scratch is immense, especially when you can predict how long each step will take; it can be incredibly frustrating.

For instance, a seemingly simple edit like adjusting the size of areolae typically takes around 1 minute and 40 seconds per image, with some more complex edits taking up to 5 minutes. If you extrapolate this to around 2 minutes per image and consider the roughly 500 images still ahead of me... well, its roughly 17 hours and 30min. So you can see how daunting it can be.

Furthermore, instead of the planned 100 images, I ended up creating around 500 because a quick test with 100 "old images" revealed it wasn't enough.

Version 1 of the dataset contains approximately 300 images, but even those are far from perfect and require additional touch-ups, as listed below. Nevertheless, I felt it necessary to proceed with this trial.

One of the most remarkable and frustrating aspects of this process is realizing that once everything is completed, the same dataset might only take a quarter of the time it's taking now. It's mind-blowing to think that I've achieved this much in just a week, even though it's far from perfect.

Here's a rundown of what still needs to be done with the dataset:

• Redraw approximately 250 eyebrows, especially those covered by hair.

• Redraw around 120 hip/torso lines.

• Fix about 150 ears.

• Correct about 350 hairstyles for unrealistic behavior.

• Adjust around 300 collarbones/sidelocks.

• Address the axillary fold in every image (important).

• Reintroduce some body/skin details; things are flatter than intended, but removing them was easier than redrawing everything.

• Add the additional 200 images I've already created.

• Expand the dataset and address any issues that arise along the way.

In terms of content, I've added AI Images, which I've tested in various ways and found to be quite impressive compared to previous iterations. It's a bit embarrassing, but I even created a small "Dojinshi" with a randomly generated AI character because I wanted to have some fun and fulfill a long-time dream of mine. It's my first attempt at something like this, so I hope you enjoy it despite my lack of experience.

Next on the agenda:

I'm currently processing the updated version of the image correction tool I shared a couple of days ago, this time with the updated dataset. It'll take about 6 more hours, I reckon. In theory, it should be even better and more compatible with my work than the previous version.

After that, I'll start by creating & testing the character "Anna Nishikinomiya" to see how she works/looks with the new model. If the results aren't satisfactory, I'll revert to the previous model for my next image set and try to utilize the image correction version 2.

I also need to attend to tasks I've neglected over the past few days: cleaning the apartment, eating some real food, taking a bath [I did shower tho!], and maybe catching up on some sleep before work tommorow.

愚痴

正直に言うと、これについて話せるのは皆さんだけなので、少し考えを共有したいと思います。このプロジェクトは私にとってかなり感情的な旅路でした。

先週、1日あたり約14〜16時間をプロジェクトに費やし、今や初期の結果を共有できるようになりましたが、その感情は複雑です。

正直に言って、完全に満足していません。特に、データセット自体の改善にはまだかなりの作業が残っています。

新しい結果を初めて見たとき、ショックを受け、私の努力が全く無駄に感じられました。それは私を打ちのめし、一日の半分をベッドで憂鬱に過ごしました。

それ以来、何度も調整を行いましたが、それでも芸術スタイルの変更やスタイルの一貫性の増加については懸念があります。

おそらく、新しいモデルをわずか数時間しか使っていないので、もう少し時間が必要なのかもしれません。

理想的には、次に進む前にモデルを完全に完成させたいと思いますが、コンテンツクリエイターとして、実際のコンテンツを制作する必要もありますよね？

さらに、いくつかの点で時間切れになりました。まず第一に、皆さんはかなりの時間待ってくれています。第二に、私の日中の仕事からの休暇が終わったので、これに毎日それほどの時間を費やすことはできません。そして最後に、ゼロからデータセットを作成することの精神的な負担は膨大であり、特に各ステップにかかる時間を予測できる場合には、非常にfrustrating（イライラする）ことがあります。

たとえば、乳輪のサイズを調整するという見かけ上シンプルな編集は、通常、1枚あたり約1分40秒かかり、より複雑な編集では最大5分かかります。これを2分間あたりの画像に換算して、まだ約500枚の画像が残っていると考えると…約17時間30分かかります。どれだけ困難かがわかると思います。

さらに、計画された100枚の画像の代わりに、約500枚を作成することになりました。100枚の「古い画像」での迅速なテストで、これでは十分ではないと判明しました。

データセットのバージョン1には、約300枚の画像が含まれていますが、それらさえも完璧ではなく、以下にリストされている追加の手直しが必要です。それにもかかわらず、この試行を続ける必要性を感じました。

このプロセスで最も注目すべきかつ挫折を感じることの一つは、すべてが完了したら、同じデータセットを作成するのに今よりも四分の一の時間しかかからないかもしれないということです。たった1週間でこれだけのことを達成したことについて、考えると驚くばかりです。それが完全ではないとしても、それはかなり狂ったことですね。

以下に、データセットにまだ行われていない作業の概要を示します：

• 髪に覆われた特に約250本の眉の再描画。

• 約120本のヒップ/トルソーラインの再描画。

• 約150個の耳の修正。

• 無現実な振る舞いのために約350の髪型を修正します。

• 約300の鎖骨/サイドロックを調整します。

• すべての画像で腋窩溝を修正します（重要）。

• いくつかの身体/肌の詳細を再導入します。ものは意図したよりも平らですが、それらを消す方がすべてを再描画するよりも簡単でした。

• すでに作成されている追加の200枚の画像を追加します。

• データセットを拡張し、途中で発生する問題に対処します。

コンテンツに関しては、AIイメージを追加し、さまざまな方法でテストし、以前のバージョンと比較してかなり印象的であることがわかりました。ちょっと恥ずかしいですが、AIキャラクターをランダムに生成して、小さな「同人誌」を作成しました。楽しいことをしたかったし、私の長年の夢を叶えたかったので。これが私にとっての初めての試みですので、経験の不足をお許しください。

次の予定：

現在、数日前に共有した画像補正ツールの更新版を処理しています。今回は、更新されたデータセットを使用します。私の見積もりでは、約6時間かかるでしょう。理論的には、前のバージョンよりもさらに優れており、私の作業との互換性が高いはずです。

その後、新しいモデルでキャラクター「西木野美姫」を作成してテストします。結果が満足できない場合、次の画像セットには前のモデルに戻り、画像補正バージョン2を利用しようと思います。

また、過去数日間放置していたタスクにも取り組まなければなりません：アパートの掃除、ちゃんとした食事を摂ること、お風呂に入ること（シャワーは浴びました！）、そして明日の仕事前に睡眠をとること。
