This is what we like to call a remember track.  Not perfect, still needs tons of work. This is the pre track to the rough track. This is how we can remember a song we just wrote to practice later and eventually record a rough track, final track, mastered track, duplicate, publish digital and physical copies. Was experiencing  a lot of emotions while writing it. I think fear was at the forefront for sure.  Marcus our friend and drummer for Sweet Radish album: The Thickwood Bramble, got lost on the mountain for 4 days without food or water.  Search and Rescue and a Blood hound didn't find them at first which multiplied our fear exponentially at the time. And to add to the tension, we've lost 2 friends to the mountains (one still missing) and we honestly thought we might never see him again. It was terrifying and we felt helpless.  Helplessness along with fear are other themes in this song along with the leading theme and title of the song. "Shame" is born in public and lived out in silence. It causes us to feel helpless or maybe feeling helpless comes first.  Either way it's a complex emotion and we hope that everyone can interpret this song in the way that best suits their situation.  We had also been working on the 365 project and editing a video of a member of the church who had developed dissociative disorder from being sexually abused at 3 years old. She was also raped later on in life and the shame she felt kept her from seeking help from all her trauma until later in life.  These are just two of the 1000 things flying through my head as I wrote these lyrics.  Anywhoo! Keep you posted on when the "rough track" gets finished and y'all will be the first to get download rights.  Peace!
