I do like the generic Chinese street lights on eBay, and they seem to be getting more stylish as time goes on.  This one seems to have a properly designed glass lens to spread the light in a rectangular pattern to follow the shape of a road.

Inside a stylish LED street light from eBay.

I like the LED street lights being sold on eBay. They seem to be evolving fast (I guess it's a huge market) and while the reliability of the early units is an unknown variable, they are generally quite serviceable, although at this cost it's cheaper to just replace a while light.

That does seem one of the better ones, and it's easy enough to fix the issue with the cover. If only it was solar powered...

I've ordered a couple of cheap eBay breathalysers to check out.

It could act as the start of a solar unit.

This looks like someone has spent some time to design a nice looking light. This would compare nicely to a lot of the proper commercial unit being installed here in Calgary, AB. I hate when they use the cold white however. 4000K make for a decent light. The "old timey" sodium vapour don't tend to seal much on the internal post mount wire feeds, however with this light they have sealed it so much for the most part that that slight extra step shouldn't have been an issue. That being said they may be allowing an out for condensation.

Quite a good looking unit, apart from the inexplicable ground/ earth issue. I agree with Vaughn B. that 4000k would be an ideal colour balance, nicely between cold and warm white. YouTube seems to be giving us subtitles by default now, actually getting it mostly right.

My supplier sells that light 99€ per piece 🙄 <a href="http://www.ikh.fi/fi/led-katuvalo-2800-lm-30w-230v-crx3090" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.ikh.fi/fi/led-katuvalo-2800-lm-30w-230v-crx3090</a>
