Our FIRST Fireside Chat about our first episode! Producer Taylor joins us from his  milk tub, Lou is dragged to Hell by ghosts, Brennan and Erika absolutely DISH about the Witch Class (!!!), and Aabria threatens Taylor with mail apples and REVEALS her true thoughts about the existence of the supernatural world.

i don’t really believe in ghosts myself, but i kind of can’t believe that none of them do? (except for maybe Lou based on his hesitations😂) like idk, especially Erika, like they were giving me ghost believer vibes right up until i saw their episode of Dirty Laundry when they revealed they didn’t believe in them, and now to hear that Brennan and Abria don’t as well? I’m just wowed by them all being able to still surprise me after 2 years of being obsessed lol

I love these types of conversations to just hear them chat enthusiastically about their works, but also to ground them as people just passionate about their storytelling. Yes they are celebrities in their own rights, actual titans of the ttrpg space, but still just people who love what they do. Listening to the genuine appreciation coming from the group just makes them even more endearing. Also, from a film/tv production person, love hearing the shoutouts to your crew. It’s always nice to hear appreciation for the people that make the thing happen, so thank you for being cool people in that way!

This is not a comparison because Taylor is fantastic in his own right, but hoo boy do I have to zero in on the drawl because his and Brennan’s tones are ridiculously similar when they’re just talking normally in lower register. It’s very easy to distinguish them when they get excited about things, thank goodness. Also, the mention of dancing around spoilers for future episodes makes me cry, what do you mean I have to wait every other week for several months to understand these references 😭

If they kept main campaign episodes in the private fireside feed, then pod catchers like Apple Podcasts wouldn’t be able to use data from patreon subscribers to tell if Worlds Beyond Number is popular. Using 2 feeds makes immense sense. It wouldn’t be the top fiction podcast on Apple if they hadn’t made this move, because we’d all be listening to Fireside (which you can’t find through the app without the RSS link) instead of WBN (which is searchable in the app).

I believe that main campaign episodes are going to be dropping every other week, so episode 2 should be coming out next Tuesday. So for Patrons we’ll get weekly episodes with main campaign in the main feed one week, then the Fireside Chat for the previous weeks main campaign episode in the Patreon feed that following week and continuing in that pattern.

Unless you meant episode 1 of the campaign, they have a separate feed for the main campaign. The Patreon feed will only include Fireside Chats, so you’ll need to search for the regular Worlds Beyond Number feed on your Podcast app of choice to get the main campaign episodes!

Dear Taylor, congratulations on nailing the soundscape for Grandma Wren's death scene! I want you to know that you nailed it so well, that you made me actually run for a safe place to listen to it because the emotions I felt were so incredibly raw and potent in that moment (I settled on our gaming room with the lights out, half way under the table, and I was sobbing the entire time). Episodes are released on Tuesdays on alternating weeks to the Fireside Chat. So Episode 2 will be next Tuesday (March 14), the Fireside Chat for that episode will release the following Tuesday, and then episode 3 will be the Tuesday after that - and so on.

I've been listening directly through Patreon as the RSS feed doesn't work with Spotify, and I didn't know until now that the main adventure had started up - just gonna start listening to it in a second. I haven't had a story that I connect to as much as this one. As a pagan, the witch stuff is gold. As a therian, the 'being stuck between nature and humanity' hits so hard. It's all so deep and I love every second of it. Every time listening to the stories that Brennan DMs it kinda feels like narrative therapy. It's beautiful, thank you. The first time of course was when they portrayed Danielle Barkstock in 'The Seven'. Bit jarring to come into ep 2 and have the reveal at the beginning of a demise! Will we ever be simplifying this into 1 feed for patreon people? In fact one of the largest podcast distribution and advertising companies is even called "Midroll" which is the industry term for the ad break in the middle, or 'mid,' of the episode. AFAIK there isn't an official youtube channel and all the channels posting the podcast as videos are stealing content. The only official place to listen to the main campaign is on the public podcast. If you search "worlds beyond number" on your podcatcher or podcast app you'll see the public feed, it has the same picture. They posted a guide to podcasts on patreon if you browse the other posts.

I can't wait to see the Witch class! So much of what they discribed is what i want in a character. I've been playing a "witch" in a 5e game with a reflavored Artificer to make tokens and charms, using an infusions for a familiar and feats for druid spells. And the first acrion i took in the campaign was to magically fortify our homebase, like the ribbon ability they were describing. I'm so interested to see their finished class.
