Near Outer Sect Court, Grass-Wood Division, Alchemy Hall,

A short elder, dressed in red robes, who had a ruddy appearance could be seen sitting in a meditative pose. In front of him, was a human-sized copper-colored cauldron that had mysterious patterns etched on its surface.

On his chest was a golden medallion of superb workmanship that represented his status as the Vice Head of the Grass-Wood Division.

The medicinal aroma of pills and herbal plants was strong and lingered consistently in the air inside the Alchemy Hall.

Gray mist - gaseous spiritual energy - roamed around the room, making the place the ideal environment for cultivation especially for anyone at the Ascended Realm and above.

Elder Guan exhaled a mist of turbid air before his eyes gradually opened.

His brown eyes seemed to have seen through the rise and fall of kingdoms and empires for centuries.

Truthfully, he was an old geezer who had lived to know how time passed by so quickly. His lifespan was very long compared to mortals and he could easily live through centuries.

After all, he was a True Spirit, an evolved being beyond the shackles of mortality. He could absorb the Origin Qi of Heaven and Earth to purify himself and strengthen his True Spirit Strength.

“I have recovered my exhausted mind and spirit after this meditation session. The sect is really greedy when it comes to Spiritual Pills.” Elder Guan lamented silently.

As the Vice Head in charge of Alchemy and Pill distribution in the sect, Elder Guan also had mandatory duties to fulfill. The said duties involved the refinement of Spiritual-tier Pills that were even effective when consumed by True Lord Rank experts.

Even though his success rate wasn't high, at only about 10%-20%, the sect allowed him to work at his own pace since he was a Master of Alchemy. Elder Guan certainly occupied a very respectable position in the Broken Moon Sect since those who pursued the Dao of Alchemy were rare and very few in the whole continent.

Stretching his hand, Elder Guan used his Qi of True Spirit to telekinetically lift the Cauldron's lid. Then, four pills that were radiating a rich, concentrated medicinal aroma finally emerged and levitated midair.

The pill surfaces were subtly glowing due to the light in the hall.

Elder Guan removed a special ceramic pill bottle from his sleeves and with a wave of his hand, the four pills systematically entered into the bottle.

Elder Guan then closed the pill bottle with an unimpressive cork which immediately sealed the medicinal aroma and preserved the medicinal power within.

Beside him was a silver tray with similar bottles as the one he was holding in his hand. Elder Guan placed the new pill bottle there.

“Tsk, my alchemy skills have been in stagnation for quite some time. Production of pills in massive batches hasn't helped me in any way.” A look of dissatisfaction and discontentment showed on his aged face as he thought.

“The Dao of Alchemy is truly a cruel path but despite its numerous difficulties, it surprisingly makes me even more determined to see where it would lead me.” Elder Guan shook his head lightly, deciding to suppress the impatience cropping up inside his heart.

“Will I succumb to old age before I see the end of Alchemy or is it my fate to not see what I am not supposed to see?” A sad smile spread on his face despite the intense determination inside his antique eyes.

Levitating from the floor with his legs still cross-legged, Elder Guan absent-mindedly rubbed his brown beard as he remembered something.

“There is going to be an admission of fresh blood in about a month. I wonder if I will spot anyone of interest, someone capable of inheriting my mantle or bringing the Dao of Alchemy to higher heights.” A throaty laughter left his mouth, his voice reverberating all over the hall.

The outer disciples and servants tending to the medicinal plants outside the Alchemy Hall wondered if Elder Guan was going crazy inside.

“What Alchemy needs is a genius. There are so many cultivation maniacs in the world but what the world is lacking is an absolute menace that would revolutionize the path of an alchemist.”

Elder Guan knew he was only dreaming as the probability of coming across such an individual was less than 2%.

Taking the numerous pill bottles from the silver tray, Elder Guan decided to visit the Clan Mission Division.

He wanted to pass on the pills for distribution and also take the time to reminisce about old times with his old friend.

Maybe having a debate and enjoying some wine would prove helpful to his stagnant journey.

Elder Guan was unaware that the said menace that could tread the Dao of Alchemy to its limits was already inside the Broken Moon Sect. And soon, he was going to have him under his tutelage - something that would fill him with pride until his very last breath.

“Oh shit, I didn't know that I would fall asleep while listening to the relaxing sounds of nature.” Zhao Wei groaned in a sleepy, deep voice as he raised his upper torso using his elbows.

Fallen leaves were lying on his body. Zhao Wei looked at them and with a swipe of his hand, he removed them.

Zhao Wei then looked at the sky and realized that the Sun had already been replaced by a full moon that cast its beautiful moonlight over the world.

Silvery moonlight bathed Zhao Wei's form and the scene made him look like a celestial moon deity as his magnetic eyes swept a cursory glance at the surroundings.

Gulugulu!

The sound of his stomach rumbling brought Zhao Wei's mind back to reality as the pangs of hunger assaulted his palate.

The sound of his super-hungry stomach even made the seasonal cicadas pause their rhythmic buzz!

“Why do I feel like eating two whole bulls by myself?” Zhao Wei touched his belly and felt that something was amiss with his body.

Calming his mind, Zhao Wei used [inner sight] to examine his internal systems.

‘720 acupoints? I have already accomplished what I thought I could never achieve in a small amount of time. What kind of dogshit luck Gu did I transmigrate with?’ Zhao Wei realized the truth of what had happened when he had been blissfully taking a nap.

All the 720 acupoints inside his body had been opened and within each acupoint, was a small cyclone of True Force.

Another finding was inside his Dantian, the five elements and the special elements that he had cultivated so far had coalesced into individual elemental essences!

Zhao Wei gave himself a facepalm as he thought about the weird but positive changes.

An enlightened glint shone in his eyes as he smiled foolishly.

“I see.” Zhao Wei had already understood everything and what had to be done to conceptualize what he had in his crazy mind.

“The [God Eye Variant] isn't the same as I once thought it would be.”

“O Mysterious Cat, so you wanted me to forge what was unique to me.”

The God Eye Variant was no longer connected to the so-called Akashic Records and the Omni-Realities, forever cut off.
