I have 3 story scenarios for upcoming scenes, next scene is going to be a story mini-RPG with multiple choices, and I am not sure if I should voice them with AI. I will still overall make my own decision on this. But there are several scenes I'm on a fence about it, please tell me your opinion!
Pros:
- Where AI voices do their job, it enriches the scene significantly, no doubt
- Helps me deliver my vision of the characters better
Cons:
- AI voices aren't good for portraying specific emotions, it takes a lot of iterations to get SOMETHING among the lines you want, and sometimes you can't get anything. So at the moment they usually sound more or less in the same tone, which may cause uncanny effect in the story.
- AI voice may interfere with YOUR vision of the scene if you want to use your own custom model, while it was easy for me to disable random selections of voice clips, I definitely won't be doing that for a story scene with dozens and hundreds of voice clips. Different structure.
- Having just story dialogue with expression morphs lets YOUR brain to picture the scene in the way you would find most exciting.

And tell me in the comments what you think please!

For now I'm not a fan of what AI can do, and text is easily editable. But a good scene is a good scene anyway! I'd be happy with both
