Oh go fuck yourself Grace. So is Lee gonna figure out how to unbind people or say goodbye to Amy.

David Hedges

Sigh. This latest development just makes me mentally tired. Its not bad writing or me hating this or anything, but having this sort of thing happen so many times in such short succession is making the impact of these incidents less and less. Sure, the details around each ambush/betrayal are different but this is, what, the seventh or eighth time this has happened in this story so far by my count? It makes it worse that this same plot has happened consecutively. We just go from ambush into a short recovery period into ambush into short recovery period. I don't actually feel like any real progress has been made anywhere to help the story feel like it is progressing into of just spinning its wheels. Or if it has I just didn't get that feeling.

But, while I did see all the other ambushes/betrayals coming, I didn't see this one coming at all, although in hindsight there was a little bit of foreshadowing that Grace wasn't just going to let things lie with Amy being a malcontent as well. While there wasn't a hint of them being in contact that I picked up on, I don't feel like this twist is just BS coming from nowhere. It is actually one of the best unexpected twists I've read. It doesn't feel cheap or like BS that came from nowhere like many unexpected twists do. I really enjoyed that part. I just really wish I wouldn't have to wait a few weeks for the next chapter cause this cliffhanger sucks.

I see. I can't really feel anything other than disappointment, for Amy. And far more profound disappointment for Grace. But I'm also a vindictive bastard, I would suggest tearing out her powers like Bonesaw did for Lee. And then either just kill her flat out, making a public example, or leave her in one of the worst places on Earth Bet, and ensure she lives, if heavily observed. I cannot honestly think of a reasonable explanation to resort to flat out subterfuge and murder. For Amy. I don't know. Unless the master component can be removed, she's a liability. And she needs to undergo some form of penance anyway for this, even if she realized her folly at the end, she had already conspired to betray and murder him. Unless Grace just forced it on her, but that doesn't seem likely. Let judgement be cast upon the wicked.

So in this statement something is missing: A couple of counseling sessions had convinced her Shard that trying to build some kind of long-buildup superbomb that totally couldn’t be stolen and used by someone else as it threw out emissions like a Sorority Pledge at her first party,

Also I really loved the chapter for what it is worth

PublicLee Speaking

Ah, I missed the end. "-at her first party was, when you really thought about it, not worth the conflict it would create."

On the Amy front I'd be surprised if Taylor hasn't already merced her

I'm kind of torn here. I don't know whatever was going on in Grace's mind that she thought THIS was a good idea, and while I can appreciate the storytelling, its a huge downer that based on how absolute you described the 'allies' ability means that Grace basically committed casual murder as part of her plan to do another murder.

This is mislabeled it’s 21.15 but above it says 21.17
