I completely missed this notification last week. Thank you for continuing these films. Excited to watch. The thing they kind of glace over for the setup of this film, when one of the pilots near the end of Force Awakens was scouting Starkiller Base (the death star planet), he was actually followed back to the rebel base. So, this one starts with the remaining First Order troops descending on their location, and the rebels desperately trying to get off-world quickly. Also, fun fact, the reason for all the funny looking birds on the island was because when filming, they crew were essentially overrun with puffins nesting on the island, so they decided to just keep them in the shots, but CGI them when possible, and add puppet versions as well to seem more natural. And don't worry about not liking Holdo, you aren't supposed to. The viewer is supposed to sympathize with Poe so that you can learn the lesson alongside him.

I just tried watching this movie for the first time today. I literally had no idea whatsoever what was going on. Absolutely no clue. Lol. 🤦‍♂️ I got through about half of it. I haven’t liked anything about these sequels at all. As flawed as the prequels were (and they were plenty flawed), these sequel movies are another level for me. I don’t intend to be negative, but for me they are really stunningly bad and pointless.
