Is Wrecker's head pain the result of the inhibitor chip or something else?

Comments

Don't know what yet but I don't think it's the inhibitor chip.

Jordan Malloy

Wrecker wrecks things. He’s probably got CTE.

Anonymous

The crash could have activated it but who knows

Steffen Bauknecht

They just needed him out of action for Omega to shine.

Joel

All I'll say is nothing better happen to Wrecker. He's the heart of the team.

Anonymous

they put a not-so-subtle emphasis on him wincing at the same spot where the inhibitor chip is, so i think it’s the most obvious reason

Anonymous

Wrecker going all "Good soldiers follow orders" is about the most tragic thing that could happen, so it's probably gonna happen. But Tech does have that scanner device, and if they can get wrecker back to normal, then they know they can help Crosshair or other clones (Wolf? Gregor?)

Anonymous

That's what worries me...

From a story perspective, the head pain being from the chip is, is the most exciting. Gives a chance for Wrecker to work against the team and for the inevitable moment, where his love for Omega brings him back.

Inhibitor chip got “damaged” which aids Tech with his chip scanner

I don’t know if its the inhibitor chip unless there is a delay reaction

Going to have to block the poll emails so I dont get spoilered.

I hope he doesn't turn, will be really sad

KuroOberon

i just thought it was from when he banged his head during the crash! those safety harnesses really need some padding

Anonymous

I hope he doesn’t but just mentioning they can be reactivated and his head started to hurt plus him making omegas room scares me a lot

Anonymous

I agree with rick he is just getting a brain freez from all the ice cream

Reece Hart

During the crash it looked like he hit his head right where Rex's surgery scar is. I have a feeling the chip is going to start malfunctioning leading to the Bad Batch learning how to remove it to save him, maybe leading to a cameo from Rex, Gregor and/or Wolffe. Then the rest of the season will be them trying to kidnap Crosshair so they can then remove his chip.

Liesmith

That's also a good point; they might be setting up an inhibitor chip crisis, but it could just as easily had been a one-time thing. It could even be that he was slightly malingering to stick around and make that sleeping nook for Omega.

Liesmith

My prediction is that he'll start displaying the same symptoms that Crosshair did, but the team will get the scanner working to verify that the chip is the problem, and Omega will help them disable it. This will then give them hope that Crosshair can also be saved, and give the team a solid purpose for the second half of the season. Then Crosshair will sacrifice himself to save them when the rescue goes tits-up, and everything will be even more tragic.

It probably was the inhibitor chip but it was probably destroyed when he hit his head so I don’t think we’ll have to really worry about him turning

Joshua Krienke

I think it would be really interesting if Wrecker’s chip made him turn bad because he’s such a lovable character even if it just happened for a single episode and then was resolved.

Wrecker splits his head open and The Child is born. Like Athena was with Zeus.

Doubt they'd pull a Chip shenanigan so soon. Later, maybe - I think it was just a writing "trick" to give him a chance to give Omega the spotlight & give her chance. Also: Ezra, Luke, and Leia are a few days old - weird!

Anonymous

It's likely the chip acting up. Protect him please!!

BratPfanneTV

I THINK it's the chip but I HOPE it's not.

Anonymous

They showed his head slam against the harness during the crash. If it ends up being the chip, it'll almost certainly be because of the crash.

Drew Lamar

Can you guys react to love death and robots on Netflix

Cody

I’m hoping that it’s just him hitting his head and not his chip. Wrecker is my favorite of the group and it’d really suck if they end up fighting him.

Anonymous

I expect it to be the inhibitor chip but I'm voting for "something else" because I don't want that happening to my big pure-hearted son

Thontor

Came here to say exactly this. It seems like a lot of people didn't notice that. It did happen pretty fast so maybe people blinked and missed it. It is possible that hitting his head on the harness did something to the chip but there wasn't really any indication of that in the episode. He just hit his head and he's a big baby so he complained about it hurting a lot.

KobyWan17

I watched back the Tup clip, he never hit his head or anything, it just starts activating on it's own. I think there's a chance it has to do with his chip but if so it's completely unrelated to the Tup example they keep using. Just thought that was an important detail the crew should know.

It’s the chip. Now the race is on for them to find a solution before Wrecker is lost. Maybe They find Rex in time to find the info they need to extract the chips before the Bad Batch are lost to Order 66.

Anonymous

From waht we've seen, there's no information saying the inhibitor chips cause physical pain, so I don't think it was that. We saw him take a hit to the head, and from a writing perspective, it's easier to have wrecker take a sideline so Omega can grow a bit on her own

Anonymous

I thought he was complaining about the head injury so he could work on Omega's room while they were gone? I might be wrong though.

Anonymous

Wrecker mentioned his head hurting several times and once in a different scene I think. But you guys should do a reaction to the 2D Clone Wars series, it’s on Disney Plus now!!

Darthwin Wright

It is most likely the chip, but the question is what effect the crash had on the chip? Fingers crossed that is was damaged and not activated.

Skeletor

I think the chips will test all of them and I think we will get Echo being the last one to not be taken over by it. Echo is a member of Domino Squad and connected to 5s so be cool if he is never controled. Hunter will be the last to be taken over. Echo and Rex will have to save clones thanks to Omega and Ahsoka in season 2

Shmengels

Maybe it really was just when he conked his head in the crash? I mean it certainly could be that his chip is acting up, but I feel like a lot of viewers seem to be really reading into what could have been a throwaway injury to keep him on the ship so he could make omega her room.

Alexa Chipman

Echo is my absolute favorite - I hope he is never controlled by the chip as well!

Tim Ott

I feel like they played that injury up a bit too much for it to simply be an excuse for him to stay on the ship for that honestly. Had they shown it once I might agree, but they made sure to show us multiple times.

Anonymous

I think it most likely has nothing to do with the inhibitor chip. This would not be the first time a Disney+ show has deliberately mislead the audience after the controversial Bohner fiasco in WandaVison.

Anonymous

I feel like if it was a throwaway injury they could have easily shown Wrecker hitting his head during the crash. But I think the issue with his chip is only going to last one episode where Wrecker could be the antagonist until they fix him.

Anonymous

It definitely seems appropriate being as they brought up developing the scanner, my initial thought on the special squad was if it was inferno squad from Battlefront 2 the female on the team looked a bit similar to the main character
