When do you think Lyla first came into contact with The Monitor?

Comments

Christian Bolda

I think she’s known him most of her life

Dip602

I am going to say after and very recently

Deadpool

I think sometime After Elseworlds crossover last year

John M

My gut tells me she’s known him for the better part of her life (considering her comic counterpart) but it would be interesting to see something happen in Afghanistan where she would have been dead save for The Monitor’s interference.

I think she’s known him since shortly after the Afghanistan incident and has been working with/for him ever since. I don’t think she knew about the Crisis, but she unwittingly been helping him make preparations

Doby Greg

Right after. Monitor recruited her in her moment of grief and vulnerability. Giving her great purpose to cope with her survivor's guilt.

Dylan Carpenter

Lyla told Laurel that after Afghanistan, she made every deal she could think of, with any god she thought might listen. When Laurel asked if it worked, Lyla looked away and said "not exactly." I didn't think anything of it at the time, but this poll got me thinking that maybe The Monitor was the god she made a deal with.

I think he saved her during the incident

Andrew Courtney

I think it was during based on the verbiage used. I’m also curious what all she knows or was told versus what Barry and Oliver have been told.

Tucker Lobner

I think it was during, but it could have been right after it

Blackest Hippy

Definitely before if it’s anything like the comics

I think the incident is what brought the monitor to her

Skeletor

I really dont know when she could have met him. Something Im not sure I trust about this person or Being. I think he tells people who are Pawns to him whatever he needs for them to do what he wants. Oliver and Barry need to talk and compare notes.

Sam K

She's always been with him.

Billyb

It had to be when she said she was praying to any God, they put that line in the episode for a reason

talia escaped, her and oliver were breaking out but oliver stayed

Athena was the member of League that was after Thea... when Lyla said that she pray for any God then that she join forces with The Monitor.. Lyla code name is Harbinger. In the comic book Harbinger plays special role in coming Crisis. They might change up some for Tv..

This was a good pole but I liked the first 1 you thought of with the transitions my favorite being the book

I have been waiting forever for this to happen with Lyla. The character in the comics was literally created for crisis on infinite earths. Lyla’s whole existence as a character originated from the monitor. So glad the show seems to be kinda using that, in a very different though way since Lyla isn’t a dimensional teleporter warning other universes, but still cool shes now Finally connected to the monitor.

Darth Kal-El (Cory Weston)

She said after the incident she “prayed and bargained to every god out there to change the outcome.” Laurel asked her her if she got an answer. She said not exactly. So it is clear she met him after the incident.

He probably showed up during the Afghanistan incident, however the real the question is are we sure Diggle is J.J.'s father or is it the Monitor?

Lyla's ARGUS codename is Harbinger. Harbinger in the Comics was saved from death by the Monitor and raised as his assistant in recruiting heroes against the Anti-Monitor. I think Lyla has been this character since afganistan where she was possibly saved from death by Monitor, and has been playing the Long Con this whole time.

ChiefChill

What if Lyla was from a different earth all along and has been talking with Monitor this whole time through the show. She probably replaced her earth 1 doppelgänger. Maybe earth 1 Lyla did die in Afghanistan and then monitor put this Lyla on this earth after her earth was destroyed to replace earth 1 Lyla and watch over it

Able

Hey guys if you’re reading this be careful about the comments below as many people reference Lylas comic counterpart as an explanation and it’s pretty much what the show/Crisis is going to do.

Anonymous

There is no reason for Lyla to have said that she was answered by a god if there was no god at all. There simply isn't a good explanation for that line to have been put in the episode if it wasn't the case. It was definitely during the afghan incident.

THIS SEASON IS SO FREAKING GOOD! There, I said it.
