Can't wait for them to react to the next season. Season 9 is my joint favourite with season 5. Brilliant writing and acting.

I don't like having your cake and eating it too. You can't have an emotional scene where Danny makes Clara erase his feelings but also has one where his feelings for her are what matters to him the most. You have to choose. Tragic loss of feelings or love conquers all.

Drawing closer to heaven sent. Can't wait!!!

Why wouldn't you eat the cake? Who buys a cake just to look at it? That's dumb! and in poor taste if you think that you are wasting food! Delicious cake! Or even better Ice-cream Cake!

To me Tennant is the most vulnerable but I get what Eric means. That double lying is great. I give Capaldi the breaking down when he doesn't found Gallifrey. While I give Clara the I'm dead inside and need a hug even if I can't tell my best friend why I need it. Capaldi wins the flashbacks Clara wins the restaurant. It hurts me Everytime when 12th shows up and there's just nothing there.

STEAMY_DA_GOD

Peter Capaldi is the GOAT and Jenna Coleman is ultimate waifu material.

CyberBrig is so bad... so bad.

While this finale certainly isn’t beloved by everyone, I thoroughly enjoy it, and your reactions to it (both of them) really reminded me of that. Those were two great reactions to both parts (and props to Lono for editing that down). Loved the long discussion for this and about Capaldi’s first series and Clara as a companion. I don’t think s8 has ever been my least favorite, but I’ve never ranked it very high. It definitely has some moments that I love though, and both Jenna and Peter are so, so good. I love the Doctor and Clara’s relationship, how it sort of unravels to them get pieced together. I’m kind of back and forth on Danny, but I get the point and the stories he was there to tell. I’ve really been loving the reactions to this series, even to the episodes I’m not as much of a fan of. Especially Eric’s reaction to Capaldi has been amazing. As for this episode, I’m glad everyone loves Missy! (Because she’s so fine). She’s honestly one of my favorite incarnations of the master. She’s so delightful. Now if only she could come back... Also that Clara and Doctor moment in the diner, and all that followed, glad we got to see some (almost) tears. Capaldi tearing up always gets me. The Danny moment again I’m a bit... ambivalent about? It’s cool but is it logical, does it have to be logical, etc. I mean, the cybermen have primarily been about erasing emotions, not the entire person, even if that’s how New Who has portrayed it a lot. But it’s also a good point that a lot more cybermen should break their programming. Idk. I enjoy the end result, and it’s a cool send-off for Danny. I enjoyed the discussion about it though! So much in this discussion that is making me look forward to next week and the next series even more than I was before (and I was already looking forward to it a lot). Aaron has got a great poker face, as usual. I would have failed staying neutral so many times during that discussion. Also I laughed at Calvin getting the Nick Frost thing (isn’t it perfect) and Eric’s always amusing “HUH?!”. Merry Christmas!

John Simm was a great Master, but I absolutely love Michelle Gomez as Missy. She is just fantastic, and makes these confusing feelings I have towards the Master much less of an existential crisis for me.

Interesting that both Peter Capaldi and Michelle Gomez who plays Missy are both from Glasgow.

The character arcs in 12s era are the very best in Nu Who imo. The best is yet to come, so excited for S9!! Loved this finale!!

I'll be honest Danny makes a poor moral compass character cause he's way to biased based on almost no real info. He has a bias towards the doctor without ever bothering to get to know him. His judgements throughout his time were based on his experiences as a soldier and because the doctor was one too "kinda" he's just sorta assumes that the doctor is only a soldier and nothing else. Also I admit I'm biased against characters that serve only as conflict instigators doubly so because I found Danny to be a poorly written one.

Nick Earl

Personally I think Smith in Good Man Goes to War does the spectrum of invincibility to pure vulnerability as well as anyone else.

Also I have to point out, because I find it funny, that so far with Steven Moffat, who’s Scottish, as showrunner, we’ve had a Scottish companion (Karen Gillan)), Scottish Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Scottish Master (Michelle Gomez). His true plan is revealed at last..

Two seasons and three Christmas specials to go! It’s gonna be a fun ride!

U mean 3 seasons and 3 Christmas specials and 1 new year !

Season 8 has been fun, and I've gained a new appreciation for some of the episodes. Particularly looking forward to next week, Last Christmas is one of my favorite specials. and then we're onto my favorite/least favorite season.

I’ve an answer to Shane’s question, “What was she going to say, anyway?”

Just a few weeks till my favourite episode of Doctor Who (9x7) Anyone agree?

Initially Capaldi was my least favourite Doctor but now after re-watching his seasons I like him much more. I bumped into him at one of my favourite Glasgow Coffee places recently but apart from saying hi I was too shy to say how much more I appreciate his performances now.

Really enjoyed the season 9 finale although a lot of my friends didn't for. Interesting to see what other people think?

Glen McCulla

It's one of my favourite season finales, quite honestly, and series 8 was my fave since S5.

Tennant used to be my fave Doctor but after re-watching the Capaldi It's now a three way tie with them and Smith. I like Jodie Whittaker but still feel she hasn't quite found her groove yet I'm hoping that will come in season 12.. Also I think 3 companions is too many although I love Graham!
