Are you guys going to go on from here? Personally I think it peaked with Children of Earth... then.... yeah. Really enjoyed the reaction series guys

Might as well finish out the whole thing, I think. I know many didn't like Miracle Day, but you've got to admit the concept was fascinating.

Yes, the thumbnail says it all. I remember that feeling all over again.

Are you gonna react to Torchwood season 4?!!!

Anonymous

this reaction is my hit

Well that's a great ending to the Torchwood reactions, good thing there's not an incredibly disappointing season 4 that clearly didn't learn the lessons from the Doctor Who movie.

This episode destroyed me when I first seen it and still does to this day

I sneakily watched Children of Earth back when I was 9 and I don't think anything in TV and film scared me like the 456. Even to this day they creep me out. That voice, the fact you never see them and the idea that all of these terrible events are happening just so they can get high was and still is horrifying.

Slender man

I think you need to watch series 4, its still torchwood and has great moments. or if you don't watch series 4 i recommend Under the dome.

It doesn’t matter how many times I watched this episode, I always start crying when soldiers start taking kids away from their parents and Johnny gets the boys. And don’t stop ‘til the end. It would be devastating, yet fitting finale for the show (yeah, not a fan of Miracle Day. it has an amazing concept and great moments and lines, but I can’t care about characters we met two episodes ago like I did with Ianto, Owen and Tosh. And the resolution is just ‘meh’.)

That thumbnail sums up all of my feelings right now. Up until this point, I haven't rewatched this season of Torchwood. I actually refused to a couple of times. Now, don't get me wrong, I think it's brilliant. It's absolutely amazing in every way. But for years I could barely make it through a trailer for it without wanting to vomit, or have an anxiety attack. That might sound like an exaggeration, but it honestly affected me that much when I was first watching it, that I connected all kinds of anxieties and negative feelings to it. I have a really hard time seeing kids get harmed on tv. It gets to me. Now, I did make it through this time, but I still feel similarly to Eric here, which is basically how I felt the first time around. It's just really sad. And disturbing. And it's not really something you watch that you then want to go on to watch something else. I kind of just want to go and hug my family. The stuff with Steven, and the stuff with Frobisher's family definitely affects me a lot. It's brutal, it's the only way out, and it's depressing. And every shot of the soldiers dragging those kids into the streets... I still have a hard time watching that. And the whole concept of this alien race, using SPECIFICALLY prepubescent kids as drugs, for their hormones - I don't think I've encountered many more disturbing monsters than that. I recognize that feeling Eric mentions, the pit in the stomach. And I've seen this before, the pit doesn't get better. But hey, I managed to get through it this time, because I didn't have to watch it on my own, but the reaction worked sort of as a filter, and I think that was pretty great. And of course, the reaction was fantastic, if, you know, sad and depressing. I've still been looking forward to seeing you react to this, and to hear you talk about it. So it's still been "fun" to watch this season again, in a way. Thanks for helping out with that. :D

Imagine watching it back when it aired, day to day as it (the events in the story, not the story itself) got progressively worse. When it ended it was like surfacing from being underwater. What a freaking depressing week it was, the bleakness was almost overwhelming. BUT it made for fantastic television. And good reaction/discussion videos! :)

I was 12 when I watched this on tv, during its original airing. I remember being so depressed thinking what a shitty life those kids would live with the 456. I had anxiety and felt sick for a good month after this. This is the first time I’ve rewatched this and I still have that same shitty feeling, although I apreiciate it more as good shit.

Spiderfrommars

The scene in episode 4, when the politicians argue about how to decide on how to choose the 10%, is one of the best scenes I’ve ever seen on a TV show. And then in this episode, Jack does what none of those politicians could, and sacrifices his own blood for the greater good. It’s such good writing.

Pedantic point, but I'll make it as you do seem to like detail - the Prime Minister isn't the Head of State in the UK, he or she is the Head of Government. The Queen is the Head of State.

The absolute best season followed by the absolute worst.

the thing about miracle day is that on its own, its pretty decent and not bad but when you put it next to the masterpiece that is children of earth, it looks shit

Stewiebro

I really hope they are gonna watch torchwood season 4

Ian Blackburn

I wonder if they'll remember what they said at 15m when they get to Day of the Doctor.

Reaction Junkie

No Vikings early access drops today? :"(

Ryan Witalison

Russell T Davies once suggested in Torchwood Declassified: Cracking Children of Earth, that Frobisher is a descendant of Caecilius, played by Peter Capaldi in Fires of Pompeii, and that what happened to him and his family was Time reasserting itself which was later confirmed by Steven Moffat.

Children of earth: The feel good drama of the year

What version of this are you watching? Extra score (soundtrack) has been added here to places where it wasn’t before... regardless, a great reaction!

Will

This year was the first time since it was broadcast that I re-watched it. Pretty traumatic viewing, really. :D

When you can look at the thumbnail and INSTANTLY know why they have those faces, it's going to be a good video.
