Code Geass would be a perfect follow up. There is a lot of comparisons between the main characters but the show is so different in almost every other aspect.

I really hope that they react to Code Geass after this. I know Shane will love it especially

SO Idk if they plan on replacing this with another anime or not but just in case it doesn't matter I wanna put in my suggestion for Sense8. It just ended, 2 seasons, only 24 episodes in all so won't take long to get through. Lots of good discussions can come out of it. Shane can enjoy the fact that "Martha", Freema Agyeman, is in it, I know how much he loved her in DW. I think they'd really enjoy it, the entire concept is really cool.

Ugh Light... This is a terrible cliffhanger (in that its so suspenseful and nearly killed me XD ) But Light's ego definitely gets in the way and as Calvin said it's not about being safe it's about winning. He wants the 'loser' to KNOW who bested him. The FBI agent Ray Penbar, he stood there on the subway with him and smirks down on him... Ray Penbar's fiancé Naomi Misora he tells her right on the 39th second "Oh that's because... I am Kira", he smirks down at L as he has his heart attack (in the manga, L thinks to himself I was right). And if you ever saw L's funeral episode... it's disgusting lol. As for hints... There's always at least one hint of all things. That and Gevanni touched the Notebook, and to verify the rules of being dead by not writing names in the book, the book says one thing but they went with how long Light was in custody. So if Gevanni died OR tried to attack under possession it verified that first.
