I remember getting back from a school trip in Barcelona (in 08?) and catching up on this series. It was well recieved iirc. Excited for more eps! And regarding the 'bender' thing it is UK slang but also kinda dated now. Not heard it for a while. It is something that can be amusing when used by non-Brits e.g the character's name in Futurama. I also find it funny whenever I hear Americans say 'gangbanger' cause that phrase has only one meaning for me.

Yes, “bender” is a British slang for gay people, although it is predominantly used as derogatory.

i don't even remember this season but to be honest i only really like the first two season's of torchwood but i was younger at the time so maybe it will be better second time around

This is the best season of torchwood! Its the storyline i always remember from this series its so dark

I think the 'bender' thing is an example of a gay writer using kind of dubious language about gay people in a humorous manner.

Children of earth is a full series of Torchwood but its a bit different than previous series. it was aired as a special over five days Monday to Friday rather than one episode per week and that is why each episode name is a number. I don't actually remember any advertisement prior to its release and i'm a big doctor who and torchwood fan. Because it was aired over 5 days it was over quick, I think they only ever repeated it once or twice in later years. Also it was aired at an earlier time. because of this there was less adult language and content also less blood and gore. But it is still the best series in my opinion. Cant wait for episode 2 !!!

It's finally here! (I'm a tiny bit sad we aren't getting an episode per day. but I wasn't expected it, to be fair) Why did you even suggest that Gwen's child could be anyone's but Rhys'? Gwen and Jack literally never had sex. they only kissed once (in the second episode, I think? with sex gas)
