Oh nooooo! This is THE episode I most wanted to watch your reactions! Mostly at the flashbacks, I was so waiting for this. Oh, well... I look forward for the next one.

I knew there would be a reason why you’re uploading Torchwood so early. Sad we didn’t get to see your reaction, but great summary and discussion. I love the episode, it adds so much context and depth to the characters. “nothing good ever happens to Tosh” — too true

It's all good guys things like this happen. Great recap and discussion. See you guys tomorrow for Kora ❤️😊

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. I was really looking forward to see the reaction to Owen's background in particular. I was already picturing how great the full length would be. I even took a pause after the finale just to be fully invested in the reaction rather than expect the future. Why did it have to be this week? Whyyyyyyy????Curse you universe!!!!(angry fist waving) At least we still got the discussion and am looking forward to future ones.

I think what Shane was saying was that Ianto was a certain way in the first season then we saw him grow into this confident character in the second but the flash back shows he was this confident character all along and that there wasn't any growing needed. What I think the show is trying to say is, this guy is a great complex confident character but becomes quiet and plays a part to be just in the background so no one notices what he's up to with his cyber girlfriend, then she dies and its replaced by grief. Then after that he returns to his usual self no longer needing to put on an act and putting himself out there more for the team because now he doesn't have a part needs to play he can just be himself and his main focus is now Torchwood, not his girlfriend.

I was like Shane regarding Ianto. I had a hard time reconciling his personality in that flashback with the way he is in season 1. In this one he is cocky, flirtatuous, confident. But when we are introduce to him he is much more subdue. I have a hard time thinking Jack didn't notice that weird shift as soon as he started working. And the timing is also strange because it means Jack gave a pass to someone he know for barely a couple of months when I got the impression they had a long history that warranted giving him a chance rather than that guy he met 2 months ago and begged him to join until he caved. Also strange because the first episode really gave me the impression that crew had been working together a long time. Especially when they are pranking Gwen. So yeah I suffered a disconnect for Ianto. I think I would have preferred if we had him join earlier and grow to season 1 personality after finding his girlfriend. Owen's was a little surprising to but while I felt a tiny bit of disconnect it definetely fits him and does a great job at recontexualizing him. especially how hard he took the pilot leaving him. It's him getting destroyed again as soon as he try to make a new connection. It was interesting to see Jack rising the ranks in Torchwood. And while I would have expect him to be a leader for at 7-10 years I wasn't surprise it wasn't decades because I think it would take Torchwood a lot to trust that freak of nature that didn't join them due to his convictions but rather threats.

Someone call Philip Morris. Maybe he can track down this missing reaction.

FACK! God damned Murphy's Law. Bad luck never happens on episodes where we wouldn't mind if we miss your reaction. Shit happens, and sadly it tends to happen when you least want it to happen.

For the love of god, have this fixed before you continue into season 4 of Doctor Who

At least we know what caused it, another case closed by, Detective Calvin.
