Time for another twitch stream! After Landon made all our eyeballs sad last month, I thought it would be fun to do a silly, somewhat nostalgic run to the past. I spent the 90's being a teenager and I thought it would be fun to go through a lot of the movies that represent what it was like watching movies then. Thus I present...

ONLY 90'S TEENS WILL REMEMBER...

Though I guess a lot of other people remember too. The movies will be show TODAY 7/14 over on https://www.twitch.tv/filmcrithulk and all listings are pacific time! With that...

TO THE LINEUP!!!

1100am - pre roll: Secret Short Screening #1 - A surprise!

1125am - Batman: Mask of Phantasm - No film probably represents that transition from "kid to teenager" quite like this one. I haven't seen it in forever, but it's one of those films that so deeply captures what was special about Batman the animate series, while also somehow STILL punching above that very heavy weight. I can't wait to rewatch.

1245pm - Reality Bites - Man, I haven't seen this in, like, 25 years an I have NO IDEA how this one is gonna go. But nothing sums up "aspirational gen x slacker-dom" quite like this Winona Ryder (swoon), Ethan Hawke, and Ben Stiller vehicle. I expect dated language and so many details to fill out this time capsule.

225pm - Twister - Of all the 90's disaster movies, this one takes the proverbial cake for being both fun as hell and somehow small-scale-dramatic in its own way. Throw in a murderers row of character actors (who, if you've never seen, I'll leave as a surprise). Get your popcorn ready.

420pm - Friday - There is no film I saw more in a two year window than this one. Like, every week we would go hang out at my friend's house and he'd just put on Friday and we'd just watch it again and again. Haven't seen it since those lazy after school days and can't wait to revisit (once again, there will likely be a lot that has aged horribly).

555pm - Hackers - No film screams CYBER 90's more than this one. I can't wait for first timers to diving into this amazing, perfect relic.

740pm - Secret Short Screening #2! Another Surprise!

805pm - Men In Black - Besides being hilarious, featuring two actors throwing 109mph, and having Sonnenfeld at the peak of his direction acumen, I think this crisp barn burner has a lean and mean perfect script. I can't wait.

945pm - Fight Club - Can't do 90's without showing the film that captures the pre 9/11 "everything is perfect DOESN'T IT STINK" malaise better than Fincher's ode to kewl misery. Haven't actually sat down to watch this 15 years? More like 20? Anyway, figured it was finally time to go back with y'all :)

1205am - Secret Screening #1 - So good!

130am - Secret Screening #2 - So bad!

See ya then :)
