So I like doing these once a month and my second half of April is a nightmare, so we're gonna throw down again with another twitch stream THIS FRIDAY 4/8. But I'm happy about it because I loooove the theme.

Like many of you, the news of Bruce Willis retiring due to aphasia hit me hard. The rumor had been going around for a bit, but while I grew up on him - I feel like there's a lot of people who have probably seen Die Hard (which he's amazing in) or his later, lazy action years and never got to enjoy the comic dexterity of his prime. Yes, he was an INCREDIBLE comic actor. My friends and I love talking about how his best performance of all time is in Zemeckis' dark comedy DEATH BECOMES HER. So I really, really wanted to show that one. And rather than show a bunch of Willis movies, I wanted to show other dark comedies that fit the tone of that movie...

So the dark comedy stream starts THIS Friday at NOON Pacific time. And can be watched at www.twitch.tv/filmcrithulk

To the lineup!

Noon - Pre-roll...

1210pm - Palm Beach Story (1942) - I love Preston Sturges and everything you need to know about this one is that the original title of the film was "Is Marriage Necessary?" I think they should have kept that one.

140pm - A New Leaf - An Elaine May movie that she disowned, but it's actually pretty damn great. If you need to be sold on the premise, sweet droopy dog Walter Matthau plays a rich guy whose run out of money and has to find a rich lady to marry and, you know, murder them to keep it.

320pm - Heathers - "What is your damage, Heather?" The cult classic I was raised on that I always like watching with people who haven't seen it because it reminds me how deranged this 80's satire really is... get ready for Winona, huge shoulder pads, and blood!

505pm - Sorry to Bother You - The newest entry on the list, but I just love Boots Riley's anti-capitalist comic screed with every fiber of my being. But really, it's about A LOT of things. And damn funny, too. Can't wait for first timers.

7pm - Death Becomes Her - The reason for the season. Get ready to watch Bruce Willis, Meryl Streep, and Goldie Hawn have a blast in this tremendously weird film that also scared Streep away from VFX driven movies forever!

845pm - Burn After Reading - The quietly scathing Coen Brothers movie that best sums up the "intelligence" behind the Iraq War. No, this is not a war film. It's kind of about two gym trainers.  And a sex pillow. And a CD with secret shit. Or something.

1020 pm - After Hours - Let's get late-night stir-crazy with Martin Scorsese's ultimate ode to pre-Guiliani New York City. All hail the great Griffin Dunne!

Midnight - Secret Screening #1 - Hint: 80's weird.

140am - Secret Screening #2 - Hint: 90's weird.

Can't wait.
