Just a little note on this story. It started out with a concept that I didn't really even use. As often is the case the origin came from an idea about word play, where one person would suggest a body swap but the "intellect would remain". The other party would agree to that, not realizing that the intellect would remain in the body he swapped from.

I don't think this was the right story for that though, if any story is that. Sammy turned out to be a bit too kind to be willfully malignant in that way, but also too stupid to realize the hypothetical question was just a hypothetical and not an actual consent to body swap.

Another concept I was thinking about was if part of the mental capacity would move as well, essentially making the dumb body even dumber and the smart one even smarter. Given how out of it the protagonist is in the story that might have happened, but it could just be shock and post sleep confusion.
