Hello lovelies!

What a year, so far! We left New Zealand in December and are now in our 4th move since then trying to find a stable home to live in! The good news is we have finally succeeded and are on a road trip heading to our final destination in Oregon. Yay!!

While we do what we hope is our final shift in physical location, let us share something new we've been working on: The Divine Engine Pragma.

Our first build of her Intro scene is ready for all you adorable people to play test and provide feedback on. Grab it at this link:

Check out Her New Game Features and Share Your Feedback!

The Divine Engine Pragma is a character we've been very excited about bringing you for a long time!

As with many of our great ideas, they always take longer than we think it will to thoroughly explore what we hope the character will be and to bring new aspects and features to life to create unique Mistresses for the game.

This build is a prototype to test out the new features, so everything is in various phases of exploration to get things right.

To make Pragma feel less 'human' and more analytical, here are some things we're introducing and really want your feedback on:

  • Text-to-voice speech

What do you think of how a machine read voice affects her tone? Does it make her feel less human? We haven't added synthesization yet. Should we make it sound more robotic? The voice we chose has a slight Irish accent. Does the accent make it more exotic and otherworldly or sound ridiculous?

  • No facial expressions

All other Mistresses have faces that move with their emotions. Pragma's face stays still like the stone statue she is fashioned after.  Does this work for her? Does it succeed in making her feel less human or is it weird and you hate it?

  • Eyes that change color as her 'various' processing phases change

Pragma's eyes change color as she's operating in different modes.  What do you think of this effect? They are mapped to the same 'emotes' that we  currently use in game, but for Pragma, they reflect a machine mode rather than a human one.

1. No color (gathering input) - Neutral - Scared  - Sad

 2. Green (Processing / analyzing) - Happy - Excited

3. Blue (giving commands) - Amused - Aroused - Skeptical

4. Red (unhappy with responses / performance) - Disgusted - Angry

  • Disembodied voice

Pragma's voice comes from the room, rather than her 3D model. Does this enhance her 'otherworldly robotic' elements or does it distract from her as a character you should be paying attention to?

  • Referencing herself as 'we', rather than 'I'

As a machine, Pragma is like many systems processing all at once, so we decided to try using 'we' when she describes herself. How does this come across in her dialogue? Does this feel right or is it just confusing?

  • Introducing a mirror and a fucking machine to the game (these will operate in her Task, Reward, and Punishment Scenes)

Pragma will have scenes centered around using a fucking machine and mirror elements. The models currently in game are test builds, which Just Jeff is improving through his fantastic art skills. What are you most excited about with these elements?

We can't wait to hear what you think of our ideas!!

Mine truly,
