Just putting it out there that I'm not a big fan of the big batch uploads every Friday as opposed to just an episode every day or so. Regardless, keep up the good videos and I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the show with you guys because I'm using your series to rewatch the show before the finale

The dub for the scene where reiner and eren scream at each other is one of few the times when the dub was wayyy better, Bryce Papenbrook did such a good job in that scene

The actual voice acting is pretty good, especially Erwin and Levi, but there are unfortunately a couple translation mistakes (imo they’re major errors) that are unfortunate. It’s probably better in general to go sub first for plot accuracy and then dub for enjoyment.

Like earlier Reiner (in dub) refers to Annie nearly crushing him, whereas in sub he says either “that Titan” or “female Titan.” Since Reiner is an infiltrator he shouldn’t reveal information to anyone, and he’s not supposed to know Annie is the female Titan bc that’s not public information yet. Reiner, pretending to be a soldier while having had no information about Annie’s capture, or even that she was the Titan (though of course he knew), means that he shouldn’t refer to the female Titan as Annie in order to keep his secret safe. It’s a subtle detail, but the dub script writer should’ve known better. Also, in S1 Ymir’s name was revealed in dub when it shouldn’t have been. When Annie transforms she should say something along the lines of “I have failed to become a warrior,” but the line is dropped entirely.

I wasn't sure at first too but I think it's easier for them. Take into consideration that they have to film watching the episodes, videos take awhile to upload on Patreon and then edit the videos down for YouTube. (and have a life outside of this btw). It's a lot.

I think now I know the difference between Cannon and Carter while reacting. Cannon always voices what he thinks (see that WHAT when Reiner was talking this episode and how he was confused in ep6 when Reiner confessed being the armored titan and he kept staring at Carter in disbelief). However, Carter processes everything in his mind and doesn't talk unless things blew his mind and can't take it anymore.

It is definitely just the easiest for us because we all have jobs and with the patreon taking so long, trying to time it all with everything else would just be super hard. Sorry you’re not a fan of it, as we go forward we can definitely revisit our release schedule and make changes

Seasons 1-3 I'd say the dub is just better. Season 4 though, the Sub enters a new dimension.

i forgot just how good this episode was. the argument they have makes it feel all too real. on my first watch i was on a rollercoaster of love and pure hate of how i felt about reiner. but by this time on my re-watch i totally fell in love with his character. i have an immense appreciation for a character with so much depth and inner conflict like himself. thank you for the uploads! hope you guys take breaks and don’t overwhelm yourselves!

Think the release schedule fits well, at least for now. We get the episodes for the week then it comes out on youtube. Maybe it won't work as well after AoT if you are doing multiple shows or multiple things at the same time.

It does take away from the anticipation leading up to the next one, which is part of the enjoyment, because binging has its drawbacks. It also depends on what episodes are being dropped. If the batch of episodes don't end on the middle of cliffhanger or crucial point in the story (eg. 1x19 Bite and then having to wait a week for the next batch).

The conversations that happen in this episode are extremely dense - there are a ton of clues, details, etc. that you can only pick up on with future context. I've watched the show all the way through probably 3 times now, and I still find new things in the dialogue of this episode that I didn't notice before or have a deeper appreciation for.

I don't see why people need to mention the dub every reaction, it's not like they're gonna switch to dub because some scenes got good voice acting. The only valid reason to watch a show dubbed is if you physically can't read the subtitles fast enough, which could make you miss important dialogue and details. This is of course not a problem for this channel, because Carter and Cannon are both quick readers and perceptive viewers.

Speaking of the music, there's an amazing live studio performance of a bunch of the soundtrack, it's called Project EMU Attack on Titan Suite and it is just epic...pls react to it! :) The original composer of the music plays piano in it!

Yeah, Reiner, for me, is one of the best written character in the show. Conflicted between following orders and what he was taught versus what he has actually seen and done, the duality within him feels very much like what someone would feel in his position. Especially since, when Bertholdt and Reiner broke down Wall Maria, they were 12. There's no way you can do something that horrible and not be torn up by it at this age.
