Actually why you hated Queen Mother was because we are looking at it from audience's perspective, but from her perspective, it really looked like to her that Bahubali was the one who was not good. Ofcourse that was all because of her pride and ego.

That was the most annoying part. She let pride and ego get the best of her. We understand that it's also to show the flaws in the characters but yeah...we did not like how she acted one bit haha

Katappa did not kill Bahubali because of his word or because of his being subservient to the crown. Katappa killed Baahubali because the choice offered to him was either he kills Baahubali or Sivagami kills him herself...and Katappa could not allow Baahubali to face that. He was willing to sacrifice his relationship to Baahu instead of Baahu sacrificing hus relationship to his Mother, who meant everything to him.
