Here's the step-by-step process for my Madoka painting which will be open for signup starting August 1st 🤗 If you're interested in this print, keep your subscription until August, then you'll be charged on August 1st for this set.
Tools used:
- Pilot colour Eno mechanical pencil (red, orange, purple led)
- Dr Ph Martin concentrated watercolours
- Acryla gouache
- White posca marker
- Blue & red sakura multiliner 0.05
- Fluid hotpress watercolour paper
- Epson perfection v600 scanner
To start, I did the lineart in pilot colour eno mechanical pencil (as you can see on my lineart scan I posted seperately, it's very multicoloured). I did most of the base colours in watercolours, but anything with a hard/sharp sense of light (such as the yellow in her hair or on her hair bows) I overlayed with gouache. I feel like I am slowly figuring out how to use watercolours and gouache together more harmoniously so I'm really happy with how this managed to turn out!
I painted the background with watercolours and added the clouds on top with gouache using a stippled/wrecked old brush lol. It worked out better than I thought.
After that, I went back in in certain spots with a blue & red multiliner. If I hadn't, the character would've blended into the bg too much.
Lmk if you have any questions about the process!
Now to start the stickers!💞
