Nearly there! Continuing with slow progress, in part because (again) the scene turned out to be more difficult than I'd expected, though some challenges I did see coming. As a small update to the other project for this month - Emma's Twitter followers celebration - that one will likely get delayed a bit, though I've got something else fun to post still, a third mini-project I went to for fun ^^

But this one! Wow I didn't expect some of the challenges, particularly in getting the 'mirrored' effect to work properly. As I said in the last WIPs post, I decided to approach this by rendering with two mirrored cameras rather than trying to render with a mirror surface, since that gives me more control over the result. It came with a lot more math than I anticipated, though! Each mirror needs to be, well, mirrored, and that gets complex when the 'mirror' isn't totally zeroed.

The last image shows a bit of the challenge to that, the whole scene is actually tilted to compensate for the fact that DAZ can't tilt HDRI lighting maps. It's a convoluted mess of null objects to serve as centers and pivots, but hey it works. Lighting was the other challenge, but not too bad, the mirror has its own lights which then themselves needed to be copied and mirrored. But end result is as you see above! Or it will be.

Probably going to involve 3~ renders in total, one each for the inner and outer views plus some extras to fix lighting and shadows. And then the also big challenge of painting in the usual drool and wetness... except I'm going to need to paint that mirrored too >.<
