Sooo this probably isn't very exciting to many of you, but it's something I'm excited about! Mostly because these sorts of 3D models have been my white whale for a long while; making detailed models of organic shapes (i.e., not easily constructed out of cubes and planes and spheres) is a lot more difficult than I could handle, and it's only more recently that I've had the opportunity to create and purchase models of this sort.

Now that I have a few? Well I want to use them obviously, though I don't actually have very many ideas just yet. Probably, a lot of this stuff will simply end up as background props; a bit of a waste, perhaps, but it really bugs me if parts of a scene are less detailed than others, which is why I haven't just used simpler models in the past.

I should note also that these still aren't the most detailed things, I'm putting in maybe a bit more work than necessary just to give myself more options with them in the future. The pizza slice, for example (which I've shown before, I believe?) was pretty flat at the start, and riddled with mesh errors; I've fixed most of the latter and I'm currently sculpting new shape morphs so I can have it fold and bend realistically. The sandwich (which is new) is less detailed than I might have liked - doesn't stand up as well to close-ups - so I'm actually just taking it apart to use all the separate fillings for use elsewhere. No more defaulting to the same few sandwich fillings for every scene involving a sandwich, hah.

This is all just a side-project for now, admittedly it's a little mind-numbing to work on at times too. A lot of zooming way in and trying to fix meshes one vertice at a time, or editing prop files in a text editor so they'll load properly into DAZ Studio. I can probably use some of this sooner rather than later, though, so I'm hoping all the work pays off and gives me a little more freedom to just create whatever scenes come to my head, without the constant "Oh I want to do X but I don't have the models for that".

Its nice change from the usual kinds of updates most people do. I like it :D
