On this month’s W❤️M episode, the gang chats about the incredible espionage action flick that started it all, Brian De Palma’s Mission: Impossible! How many members of the original TV cast either walked out of or outright refused to see this movie due to brand loyalty? How great are all these practical make-up disguises for Cruise? And is George Lucas responsible for this franchise being totally non-horny? PLUS: The guys plan on experimenting with Flatliners technology!

Mission: Impossible stars Tom Cruise, Jon Voight, Emmanuelle Béart, Jena Reno, Ving Rhames, Kristin Scott Thomas, Vanessa Redgrave, Ingeborga Dapkunaite, Rolf Saxon and the great Henry Czerny as Kittridge; directed by Brian De Palma.

I’ve never been entirely clear on how the IMF functions. In M:I Kittridge is the boss, but he seems to be CIA. Then later it’s whoever the Director is, unless there’s no Director and we’re just talking straight to the Secretary. And I thought the whole point was that they were all out in the wild and just got recruited ad hoc, but in M:I 3 they definitely have a base with elevators and everything. So I just don’t get it.
