On this edition of our 1990s L.A.-set primetime drama re-cap show, the gang welcomes Chelsea Jupin back to the show to chat about two very different eps of Fox Primetime!

On Beverly Hills, 90210, the gang gets wet on "Things to Do on a Rainy Day." Originally airing April 23, 1992, this episode is the famous one with the Color Me Bad appearance, which also features Donna finding out her mother is having a torrid affair, the guys hiring an at-home stripper, and Jim & Cindy going to a really boring museum exhibit!

Then over on Melrose Place, things are really starting to come to a boil on "Duet for One." Debuting on December 1, 1993, this episode has Billy and Alison finally breaking up over billionaire Steve, Sydney taking Lauren up on her salacious job offer, Michael being a real piece of shit and tricking Jane into letting him move back in, Jake getting ready to assist the FBI in Palmer's downfall while still wanting to sleep with Amanda, and the most earth-shifting development yet: Katya's mother falls ill and Katya has to rush back to Russia to help her family!

MELR0210 is a WHM podcast where the guys blissfully stroll through the Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place timelines. The TV episodes covered will run in broadcast order, but they may skip duller 'sodes in order to keep the focus on the nitty, the gritty, and the downright bizarre. Thanks so much for continuing to support the WHM Patreon!

This one’s for Eric - did you know the actress who plays Katya plays Marina Oswald in JFK

Francesca Gravatt

I regret to inform y'all that was the actual music video for 'I Adore Mi Amor' playing in the opening. Just kickin it in their Beach Dungarees.

Michael Daniels

I'm hearin' double here...four Jupins!

Tyler the Destroyer

Besides buying the dvds how the fuck do I watch this??

You can find the performance in the Peach Pit And Kelly hanging in the hotel room on YouTube. No idea about the other part. I couldn't search Pluto TV, although I tried.

HockeenightsCT

Despite living through this era of music television I had to double check on the internet to make sure that “I Adore Mi Amor” wasn’t the name of the fake song Rex Manning is promoting in Empire Records

Tyler the Destroyer

I found it on Pluto Tv but it’s the Spanish version lol

Tyler the Destroyer

however I’ve been told daily motion is a cool website

Always happy to hear both Jupins

Phillip

They have both. For some reason on Apple TV the Spanish language version always shows up first but you can switch to the English language channel

The Whisky seems like an awfully small venue for a group as big and mainstream as Color Me Bad was at the time. The Whisky only fits a few hundred people and it’s really tiny inside. If they’re big enough to be staying on the fancy penthouse carded floor of a hotel I’d think they’d be performing at a much larger venue in LA.

I need Chelsea to return more often for these so I can hear her hatred of Michael Mancini

Everyone thought New Jack Swing was built to last when they wrote that episode. Color Me Badd's debut album went triple platinum, and I think had it not coincided with the rise of grunge and gangsta rap, it would've sold twice that amount.

Erin Hardy

Every single member of Color Me Badd looked like the Wish.com version of another musician.

Anyone else’s audio cutting out at 41:40?
