This month on We ❤️ Movies, we’re talking a blue streak about one of the best Hollywood blockbusters of (at least) the last decade, and one of the best films of last year, Top Gun: Maverick! How refreshing was it to see all of these real-deal sequences caught on film? Couldn’t we have had a few more scenes with Ed Harris? And how terrible is that bar’s bell-ringing policy? PLUS: With only three weeks to plan this mission, Maverick doesn’t for a second forget about the importance of down time and clocking out right at five!

Top Gun: Maverick stars Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Jennifer Connolly, Miles Teller, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Bashir Salahuddin, Charles Parnell, Monica Barbaro, Lewis Pullman, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, and Ed Harris as Rear Admiral Chester ‘Hammer’ Cain; directed by Joseph Kosinski.

So when does a regular patreon member get the love and thunder stream? It seems like you guys want to be cut off of my regular payments.

Verianas

OneRepublic’s first album came out in like 2003 guys lol. Very old man moment in a great episode. 😂

Hey, sorry, William, we never said the Love and Thunder show was going to be made available on Patreon. - Andrew

William, to be fair it was always advertised as it's own thing. I've been a patreon for quite some time and have always felt satisfied with the amount of content the guys churn up for us. On top of that they add new series of shows all the time for Patreon Patrons. If you're not satisfied with the quantity of content why not email the guys directly instead of threatening to cut them off because you didn't get one live episode? C'mon now....

"His dick is a muppet in that movie." I howled all the way home. You guys have to do the labyrinth now.

A little off topic but RIP Earl Boen

I don't know if y'all talk about it in the 'cast yet since I haven't finished it, but I love when you all talk about the "Cruise as Kirk" moment, because I think on another level this is also such a meta film about Cruise, about Hollywood and movie stars, it feels bizarrely one of the most personal Tom Cruise films where he's reiterating: this is where I belong, I belong doing this fucking insane MI series stunts, I'm a movie star, this is my purpose, and like the dude is weird don't get me wrong but he puts 1000 percent of himself into this shit and it shows and God bless him the man is showing us fucking films, not air conditioned green boxes.

Smaug

I agree wholeheartedly, dude's personal life is bizarre and not to my personal liking, but goddamn he knows the kinds of movies he excels at and he does an amazing job of producing films for us

I think I read somewhere that the only other country that had F-14s is Iran... so it's probably Iran.

I got super high and watched this film in the theaters. A great and giggly experience. Lots of fun and super cheesy. Glad to hear about it on the pod! ☝️💙

“Maybe you have a nice penis” and “call you HUNGman.” Looking like 2023 will be a hall of fame year for Cabin and Eric.

Every time that loud bell sound rings out in the score I have this pavlovian expectation that The Undertaker is about to show up.

Eren Keskin

The enemy pilot that pulled off that sick move was using a Sukhoi Su-57. It's a Russian plane
