It's our monthly trip through Star Trek history and we're chatting about an okay TNG and one of the worst episodes of TOS ever created!

First up on TOS, it's the wretched episode, "And the Children Shall Lead"! Originally airing October 11, 1968, this episode features the Big Three stumbling on a whole Jonestown-esque mess of corpses, a bunch of shit-eating kids taking over the Enterprise by making the jerk-off motion, and a famous, real-life L.A. lawyer playing the special guest Gleep of the week!

Then over on TNG, it's the political intrigue-filled episode, "The High Ground." First beamed onto our televisions back on January 27, 1990, this episode has some of the gang casually sipping drinks at a cafe during political strife like it's Casablanca, Crusher getting kidnapped by domestic terrorists, and people whose DNA is starting to break down due to their means of travel!

The Nexus is a WHM podcast where the guys futilely go through two Star Trek series at the same time. Thank you so much for continuing to support this weird thing we do—we couldn't do it without you!

Beverly Crusher was lookin’ good in the episode. 👀. And she was kidnapped by Jerry Seinfeld. Lol.

Craig Huxley, who played Tommy in "And the Children Shall Lead," created the massive stringed instrument responsible for the weird tonalities of V'ger bass blasts in Jerry Goldsmith's score for Star Trek: The Motion Picture, heard at the beginning of the film during the Klingon sequence. He also created the synthesizer programming for the Project Genesis sequence in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

They’re bringing “Picard” back for a 3rd season?! Oh, god.

This a pretty good TNG ep...but we're hitting the point in season 3 where like the next 5 of the next 6 are absolute bangers.

That Jack Ruby connection sounds like something that would pique Eric's interest.
